The Roosters have had a poor start to the 2011 season and will be very keen to win this week against a Port side that has finally managed to win a close one. The Magpies will probably go in as slight favourites, however I think home ground advantage could be significant.
My tip - North by 5 points

after watching both teams yesterday i'd suggest port will win comfortably by about 5 or 6 goals

Confident North can get on the scoreboard this week. Port may have won a close one, but I haven't seen much improvement or a change of game plan at Port.
North by 3 goals.

Port by 5 goals.
Port are throwing the ball around alot more than previous years, they have alot more pace & i love there run & support out of defence thats setting up some quality goals. There is alot more improvement than previous years TSG.

I'd expect Ebert and Surjan to be missing from the magpies whcih could significantly impact on a young magpies outfit

Yes after Eberts game on the weekend i expect him to be in the Powers side.
If they don't play him ( POWER ) in the midfield theres something wrong, this bloke won the magarey medal playing in the centre & he proved the difference between Port & Glenelg playing in there.
WAKE UP POWER.

Port are still not kicking big scores though NM, which must be a concern, and the main reason Port have so many close games.
After the Power game today, Port will lose Ebert and maybe Surjan, and North could gain Stewart and maybe Motlop.

Its only a matter of time before they start kicking bigger scores.

Big scores are an issue i am concerned about and i heard a few people concerned about it afterh the match. alot of it is not getting our kicks into our forward line on target. There is enough of the ball going that way though.

We have to set up alot better & create more space to put the ball out infront of players that present to the right spot, not present wide to the boundaries, its something they are doing far too often ( going too wide ). Your right alot of ball goes in there & the work rate has to pick up to hold the pill in there & give themselves a chance of kicking a winning score.
15+ goals a game is going to win you more games than 8-9 goals.

Roosters to get up with Brett Ebert and Jacob Surjan to go back to Port Power. their best players from last week. but in saying that if Douglas or Vince dont come up for the crows matty wright will be a chance to play for the crows

Alleway reported for striking last Sat night so if he misses this week then North no chance!

No one. That is the great mystery of the report. He got hit in the face by number 22, he shaped as if to throw a punch, but only in an intimidating manner and the umpire, who had not got a decision right all night kept up with his perfect record.
Most people didn't think that he got reported. The umpire made out to get his book out, but didn't. It came as a surprise to see the report come to fruition.

Goal kicking is Ports biggest issue, we rely on our mide-field / smalls to kick 5 or 6 between them to get our 12 or 13 total.
If we struggle through the middle we just cant kick a winnign score, but, having said that, our game plan is built around quick forward entry and running the ball with pace, we need only get a key forward to step up and we will have a winning formula.
I expect a close one here, again, but think we might struggle to hold North key big men up forward.
North 12-23

Port in yet another close one by less than a goal.
Will be a test of the depth of the side if Port do lose players to AFL duty, yet there Reserves team have done pretty well so far and clearly they have the capacity for players to step up.
