Ground naming rights and PAFC

Nearly every SANFL club has sold off the naming rights to their home grounds (good or bad, you decide), yet Port who were crying poor and screaming "you owe us" etc etc never have done the same. Why? If they were at rock bottom as they said they were, why wouldn't you do this? Seems obvious as a much needed revenue stream when you're on the bones of your arse.

Yes but why was it never done before if they were so financially stuffed and had no other options? I mean, other clubs have been doing this for years now, probably close to 10 years now, yet Port never has yet have demanded more and complained more.
Doesn't add up!

Nothing to do with selling souls and lack of pride, that's not true with the other clubs, surely.
I think it has everything to do with corporate partnerships and long term financial benefits.

Not much pride in going to the SANFL, cap in hand and crying poor is there!
While you guys are plotting your next chest beating deception other clubs are getting on with survival in their own right, by themselves, for themselves.
Interesting the Italian Oracle never posed this in all of his propaganda articles!

Doesn't pride come before the fall?
Keep your pride and the rest of the SANFL will watch your fall.

Even SAAFL clubs are doing it now because they see the advantages, ever heard of Rexel Oval, or Mawson Lakes Hotel Oval?
No regular personal calls them that (just like everyone still uses Elizabeth, Richmond, Noarlunga etc), but if the clubs can make some money, why not?
