Had another look this afternoon...the area is all fenced off and there looks to be some foundation work going on and there's several PVC pipes sticking out of the ground...

I wasn't making a leading statement at all, it is common knowledge that players have had difficulties comming off at Elizabeth and I thought last year or the year before there was some issues ( at a night game ??,not sure ) . No doubt all clubs have some issues like this but we were talking about Elizabethh thhats all , no harm intended .

The players and umpires look well protected to me.

Unless you're talking about something happening in the middle of the oval, there isn't any time the players walk through the crowd. Once the players go through the race they're separated from the crowd. And if you're talking about something happening on the ground, do you suggest we extend the race into the middle of the oval, make players run around it during the game?

some players take longer to come off than others, that's all.

I am sure there was trouble one game with spectators and players coming off the ground ? I have a feeling it was againt Sturt at night . I could be wrong , not having a go at anyone here simply passing an observation.

Other clubs have far worse issues with crowd
Eagles v sturt and north v port were most recent issues with crowds and players. A better players race wouldnt have stopped either if those incidents

truth be known, most of the players come off once they get into the showers.

Yeah the players race doesn't do jack if the players are in the crowd stirring up the trouble themselves.

Ah, I see what's happened. You heard something from someone that something might have happened and immediately jumped to the conclusion that we needed to build more facilities.

Regardless of what you may or may not have heard, clearly there isn't anything that can be built to improve things (if they even needed improving) so I suggest you let the subject pass before you embarrass yourself too much more.

Round 23 2010 Centrals v Glenelg at Elizabeth
Several Centrals supporters ran out onto the ground immediately after the final siren and about 20m in front of the Glenelg coaches box they confronetd the Glenelg players and were abusive.
Glenelg officials tried to protect the players by getting between them and the supoortes as they desperatley tried to get the attention of security who were busy controlling Centrals supporters at the head of the race.
This is an accurate account and I was present as a neutral observer.

I have seen several incidents at Elizabeth not on the oval rather out the back where visiting teams walk in a race to the visitors rooms - gates usually closed over but not locked.
