South Adelaide captaincy ???

Postby Freo HeaveHo » Mon Jan 10, 2011 10:08 pm

Just wondering who you fellow Southies think are candidates for arguably the toughest job in the SANFL. May well be another tough year for the panthers but looks as tho fuller is determined to have the right people pull on the jumper and give them game time and experience to hopefully take the club forward sooner rather than later. Just doesnt look to be any stand out person for the job taking over from club favourite Ben ' Dugga ' Warren

If he can stay on the park, Josh Thewlis perhaps?

If they want to go with young talent, perhaps Nick Murphy or maybe someone like a quality interstater in Andrew Horne or local lad Brad Crabb?

Thewlis would be longest serving Panther now, and the only survivor from the 2006 finals squad.

Love the way he goes about his footy, but has had a rough run the past few years with injuries.

Crabby has been VC for a season or two, so would have to be considered.

Others to be considered could be:

Cockshell? (can be undisciplined at times, but is very vocal on field)
Murphy? (speaks well, mature for age)
Sandery? (again, needs to get his fitness sorted out)
One of last year’s recruits?

Hard to know who displays leadership without attending training etc.
SAFC- 60 years...
StKFC- 58 years..

i think Murphy or Crabb might be the logical choice. Prefer to see a local get the job. Both lads will be with the club for the long haul . I dont know what last years recruits show in terms of leadership but the question is how long can the club keep them at Noarlunga ??

Thewlis or Crabb as a long term option.

'Potentially' it could be Port, West, North or Sturt even. Who knows what's going to happen, bookies rightfully have us as spoon favourites but the ladder rarely falls out the way us so called experts on here predict...

Yep fair call although I would be very suprised if North finished below South, Sturt or Port but that is my North bias but looking at it by lists ours IMO is better than those 3 and West as well but as you know that means jacksh*t if you run out form, fitness and confidence and pick up key injuries.
