success of draftees from SANFL

Interesting article in the Jan 2011 Inside football re draftees.

This is a summary re the SANFL with the numbers from each club since 2000 and the average number of games for each at AFL level.

Magpies low in picks but they have lasted longest.

West 31 drafted, average 39.8 games

Glenelg 24 34.1

North 24 24.3

Norwood 24 18.2

WWT 22 34.5

Central 20 27.0

Sturt 17 36.9

Port 16 67.1

South 9 20.4

This would be assisted with Shaun Burgoyne playing 173 games already, and Brett Ebert on 137.

Off the top of my head you'd think Norwood's average would've changed if Fosdike and Crouch were included, I'd think they were drafted prior to 2000

Oh dear it is a survey based on 2000 onwards - North's average would change too if we went back to the 70's and included the likes of Von Bertoch and Jaworski! :roll:

add harley too the list as well. but again it is 2000 onwards and other clubs could name similar blokes. all played in the same jnr teams round 95-97

Does this include the lastest draftees? If so then Norwood would have some on zero games bringing the average down a fair bit.

This was the summary table - also had tables for WAFL, VFL and some other competitions
was over 2 or more pages and was worth buying the paper!
Not sure I can answer as to those in latest draft - reckon no as are for 2011 season and this was 2000 to 2010
