SANFL players delisted from AFL

There is a similar thread in the AFL section, but thought it worthwhile to start one solely about former SANFL players that have been delisted by their AFL club, which could lead to them returning home.

Fremantle have advised former Woodville/West Torrens midfielder Chris Hall that he is to be delisted by the club.

Haven't followed his progress since joining Freo, but he would be a great get if he is anything like he was a couple of years ago. Very fast, very skilful, but very slight.

Not a delisting but heard a whisper Aaron Kite might be returning to the Redlegs next year.

Not a delisting, but a retirement...

Nathan Eagleton has hung up the boots in the AFL after his career with the Power and Western Bulldogs.

He mentioned he would like to come back home to SA and play SANFL so would suggest his old club West Adelaide would be in the mix.

Bloods President Paul Sperling said in today's Advertiser they will of course be speaking with Nathan about returning to Richmond Oval.

Didnt he suggest he was open to offers, meaning more than just West are in the mix.

Code for I want competition to drive my price up for one last footy pay-day. Hope my club gives him short shrift if he comes knocking.

Not the first guy to look out for his career first and wont be the last...

Could he remain a Bulldog perhaps?

Watching his last few games Id suggest not only has the AFL passed him by but the SANFL has too. A good player in his day but well and truly passed it IMHO. I wouldn't want North getting him.

You can have him if he is chasing the dollars.

Hope the bloods offer him a basic contract and don't budge.

But he is typical of a North recruit, a worn out ex-AFL player.

I don't think you can say he's after money based on his off the cuff remark he's open to offers. He might mean he's keen on playing as an assistant. Or just that the club he wants to play for he hasn't spoken to and doesn't want to speak on their behalf.

Not sure what West's coaching setup is, but if they offer him a playing assistant's role it could only help them as their kids keep coming through.

I heard a rumour that an ex AFL listed player is coming back to play at his old SANFL club and he's bringing a couple of friends with him...
