Interesting to see Sam Day in the U18s. Probable #3 pick in the draft still playing U18s instead of reserves footy. I would have thought he would be pushing for league selection?

Surely this game could have been played at Richmond, assuming a neutral venue was required

To be honest Noarlunga oval is probably the oval in the best condition.

No football on it last weekend no centre wicket mud slide No training during the week.

Sturt's reserves finished top and have the week off this weekend. Sam has played at least 1 reserves game for Sturt this year that I know of.

Eagles 0.2 6.8 8.9 11.13 (79)
Sturt 5.4 5.6 7.6 8.8 (56)

Goals:
Eagles - Sutcliffe 2, Poole 2, Jacquier 2, Harding, Batley, Dunstan, Joyce, Toumpas.
Sturt - Giles 3, McKenzie 3, Twopeny, Day.

Sturt lead by as much as 32 points at quarter time, before the Eagles piled on six successive goals from the 7-minute mark of the second quarter for their first of the match, until the 9-minute mark of the third quarter.

With a strong wind, the Double Blues cost themselves a sizable quarter time buffer, even though at the time 32 points seemed adequate. Lachlan Giles finished with 3.4 for Sturt after kicking 2.4 in the first quarter, most from strong marks.

Angus Poole was amongst the Eagles' best, winning plenty of hard ball and creating a lot of opportunities up forward, including finishing with two goals. Matthew Jacquier also marked very strongly above his head, and his ground work was fantastic, and he also finished with two goals for the Eagles.

Sturt led the match right from the start until 21m29s mark of the second quarter, from which the Eagles held the lead from then until the final siren.

Eagles too good for the blue boys. Sturt did well to make 5th with what they had. Just a sshame that a game is ruined as a spectacle because of wind. It was a 6 goal guster that did spoil the spectacle. to think that teams play all year for the right to play in finals and then on what is a nice warm sping day with no breeze anywhere else in metro adelaide the boys of both games have to contend with that. The surface was gr8, the service at the bbq shed and the canteen was shite. They where definately out to make a buck. Also didn't mind donating $2 a head to watch but for my car as well. Still trying to work out who mazda barracked for. Down at footy park this morning no charge for the 18's game !!!!! And the conditions fantastic like yesterday but no wind.
