Sturt played very good wet weather footy, Eagles looked disinterested right from the start.

A few questions about some Eagles players. Goldsworthy and Hill showed some good signs early in the year, but haven't kicked on. Day needs an opportunity to develop in the same way Grocke has in the last 3-4 years, but don't know whether he deserves a spot next week.

Congratulations to Sturt on making the finals after a wobbly year. (Boy it was hard to say that!)

The signs were there in the first term. While there was no rain during the first term, the ground was heavy, but 1.10 to zip said it all, Sturt should have put the game well beyond an Eagles outfit that was being totally outclassed. That said, Sturt didn't and the Eagles were in with a chance, but the second quarter sealed the win I reckon, it was tougher, but Sturt got the goals, 4 to 2 I think and with the heavy weather now setting in, it was just too much of a gap.

The Blues were pumped, on song and looking good, they've beaten Norwood, Centrals and Torrens leading into the finals, can't get better form than that really. It's all to play for though, a good effort from Torrens next week and no one will care about this game, Sturt still have it all before them, but definitely could be a sleeping giant...

Great win by the Double Blues today. But for bad kicking for goal in the 1st 1/4 we should've blown them away early. Eagles' defense was woeful and really need to work on their kickouts. Great effort to make the finals, wouldve loved to have finished 3rd and have a crack at the Bays. Not to be but looking forward to next week.

20 scoring shots to 7, has mickey godden got something up his sleeve ? is there any player from either team that is likely to be called up next week ? if wwt hasn't then sturt will book themselves into the first semi & both norwood & glenelg wouldn't want to meet them
i thought secret groups were a thing of the past, well not on websites anyway

If fit, Welsh and Grocke will be inclusions.

After the last two weeks, some changes will have to be made.

Not sure if those two would help you one bit. From the vision on my TV screen the eagles were not prepared to take the game on instead opting to chip and stuff around with the footy. It was captain obvious today's conditions did not warrant that game style for any chance next week they must play Sturt at their own game and get it moving.

I'm glad we are starting to run into some form. I actually think we could beat each team in the finals. I'm not saying we will cos finals is a different story and eventually they'll get our measure - whether it be this upcoming week or next (or the next) but it's great that we're not just making up the numbers by default.

I think they're all injured (Salter/Broadbent/Hentschel).

Sorry, it was just an expression of frustration. The Eagles seemed to have no idea how to play footy in wet weather. Very disappointing. :(

Great to see Sturt supporters already celebrating their Elimination Final Victory...

On another matter...

CSBowes... please explain to me the purpose of your CS move today, please don't say " To move to the goal scoring end or to move to Sturt's forward line"

Who was the fat, bald bloke in the 'spray type jacket' leading the chorus?
He was clearly insighting crowd issues.
As for the bloke who was evicted @ 3/4 time - the photos will prove he was clearly aggressive.

Was that you, trying to calm down the Weslo wallys?

The fat, bald bloke in your CS is a disgrace!!! You can NOT defend him or his actions.
Funny how when the cops arrived, he donned the beanie & became all coy.
Pfft

Sturt excellent today, did all that could have been asked of them in trying conditions. Eagles exceptionally poor today, no direction or conviction. Next week will, I'm sure, be another story altogether. Maybe the Eagles 'supporters' will even stick around for the whole game ;)
