The Eagles have their own iPhone application and it can be downloaded now for free!

The beauty of it is that ALL sanfl supporters can benefit from it as it has LIVE up to date around the ground sanfl scores.

Great stuff ... will test it out tomorrow.

No more tedious screen refreshes of the SANFL live scores thread on SAFooty. 8)

Live scores for the non-Eagles games didn't work last week ... pity

Didn't work at all on my or my mates Iphone, hopefully they test it and get it working properly before they advertise it next time. Working in IT testing it really annoys me when people do a shoddy job in that area as Id get the sack if I released something like that.
Good idea though and looked pretty despite no scores being updated. I'll be relying on good old reliable SAFooty tomorrow which never let's me down! :D

Ahhh. If true and they're reliant upon another website they're probably on a hiding to nothing and at the very least would want to implement stringent long term testing before going live otherwise they'll do more harm than good to their product even if it does eventually work.
Also probably difficult to simulate a live environment if they're just using resources of anothers and probably a reason for extended testing at the very least before release. I create automated tests for online environments and can tell you that unless the Eagles IT department is working closely with the source analysts or programmers then theyre stuffed! :?

LOL, Eagles IT Department ...

Of course, every SANFL club has a cast of IT professionals

FFS, it's a free app. #-o

Haven't looked at the new app but for sheer ease of use SAFOOTY is easy and quick to up load for scores and comments. Purely based on user performance for updates and comments which means grassroots opinions and perspective. While at the footy I'd never use SANFL for updates

Free or not for it to be released when it doesn't work for most is shoddy work and work like that reflects on all people in IT but yes I do have a vested interest and hate to see things released prematurely wihout appropriate testing.
This site is free too but we make sure it works Most of the time with less resources than an SANFL club. ;)

I look forward to getting tomorrows scores from it too just like I have reliably in the past. :D
And we cater for all smart phone users not just Apple. :o

A tad hard to use the SANFL scoreboard on an iphone considering Steve Jobs hates flash ...

I have a vested interest too ... as an IT professional I make a good living out of fixing the stuff ups from people in my industry.

It's a beautiful never ending cycle ...

We're IT enemies!
You love shoddy work and I don't allow it to happen! ;)
