who'll get 3rd spot ? norwood or wwt ?

Postby bayman » Fri Aug 27, 2010 7:59 pm

with 2 rounds left to go, which team do you think will run 3rd at the end of the minor round ?

norwood play
glenelg @ glenelg
west @ norwood

wwt play
north @ prospect
sturt @ home

while norwood's % is a lot better which will be crucial if they stay level on points, i think wwt are more likely to win their 2 games than norwood are

but what do you guys think ???
i thought secret groups were a thing of the past, well not on websites anyway

I think Norwood will struggle to defeat Glenelg, and possibly win over West, whereas I think the Eagles can win both of their games, so I think the Eagles will finish 3rd at the end of the minor round. Our insipid performance last week has possibly blown an entire footy season. However, Eagles appear to playing better footy at this point in time and probably deserve to be there.

Means they can run out the last quarters better like last week .

Still possible for Sturt to finish 3rd if
- Norwood lose to Glenelg and West
- Eagles lose to North and Sturt
- Sturt beat Central & Eagles

unlikely but is possible.

Indeed consider this little scenario ....
if in Rd 22
West d South
Sturt d Central
North d Eagles
Glenelg d Norwood

and in Rd 23 - West d Norwood

It will leave
Norwood on 22
Eagles* 22
West 22
Sturt* 21

and it all comes down to Woodville Game* Sturt v Eagles
If Sturt win they have double chance
If Sturt lose they miss the finals ......

We'd still ahead on West on % unless there were some ridiculously big margins.

Can't see West briging the pct gap over Eagles / Norwood given they didnt make the massive leap this afternoon.

It will be a huge task for Sturt to get over WWT next week but I think we're a good chance, however I can't see West getting over Norwood, depends just how much Norwood have dropped off. I think Sturt are a huge chance to finish 3rd.
