Lets be honest, Glenelg are a good side and have beaten better than North this year. We were within 4 points at half time and then a game defining moment happened. Motlop gets a free 20 metres out, plays on and misses.
I'm not blaming Motlop for the defeat, but from the kick in Glenelg kicked two goals inside a miunute and North just went to pieces.
We just seem too fragile, and every week the same thing seems to happen. We concede a couple of quick goals, usually from our own mistakes, and our confidence is shot. We need to toughen up mentally.
Others watching there today will say it's a damn sight more than just that, but it just seems to me that on top of whatever other faults we have, mental toughness is also lacking.
Even kicking more than 10 goals seems menatlly beyond us. 2 easy misses in the last which should have been goals. Not saying it made any difference to the result, not saying the Bays didn't take their foot off the gas. But we should have ended 11.7 instead of 9.9 and we don't seem to be able to get passed kicking more than 10.

I went for the first time in a month and really enjoyed the game, was amazed at how much abuse Chad Cornes copped from Glenelg supporters early on but it soon became clear why as he's just awful, Glenelg would have won that game 20 goals plus if not for Chad Cornes. Turning point in the 3rd quarter was when he got dragged and Glenelg poured on 4 quick ones.
Poor bastard not only was the only bloke to get flogged in his team but got smashed and will be struggling to walk for a while, I swear his Glenelg team mate set him up on purpose in the last quarter!

There's no doubt about Chad. At one stage he won a free kick, and his team mates took off downfield to make position. Rather than move the ball on, he decided it best to walk over to Alleway and give him a serve. Typical Cornes, he thinks everything is about him. Lillte wonder why Primus isn't interested.

well the chad left to go to hospital for x-rays' after the game, however i'm not sure what the 'injury' is
as for the game, glenelg flew out of the boxes & piled on 3 quick goals then north & especially alleway lifted & he showed he should've got a chance at afl level, & norths defensive game worked by shutting down glenelgs on ball brigade & it also created opportunities for north, however as we know this type of defence doesn't work for an entire game at sanfl level & glenelg started opening up norths defensive effort & finally broke it & by 3/4 time the game was over, to norths credit they tried hard but at times it was left to only a few & were obviously undermanned, i thought alleway, whyman & ackland were norths best while for glenelg i thought bode, allen, willoughby, ruwoldt & blackjack

The same injury was caused by Alleway smashing into Cornes whilst trying the mark
No free kick when softer frees are paid during the day

Seriously if you think the fair spoil and collision in the contest where Cornes was injured was a free then you need your eyes checked.
The problem for Cornes was that he thought he could throw his weight around from the opening bounce with Alleway and came off a poor second.

otr, read what he posted, mal is saying there is less impact collisions for which frees are paid, this was a heavy collision & there was no free, i agree with mal if the others are to be paid so should this one (for consistency) however it wasn't a free & neither should it have been & neither should the collisions with less contact after all it is a contact sport

1st qtr
I think it was BENNETT who marked the ball
A split 2nd later MULES spoils
Softer than the CORNES /ALLEWAY spoil
25m or 50m penalty and a goal
Ist qtr
scuffle after a NA goal
Players push and shuv
ALLEWAY backs into MULES
MULES drags ALLEWAY back after the initial contact
Happens all the time as players are not allowed to punch others
ALLEWAY soft free kick and goals from memory

Highlights of today, "The Goat" tearing the Norwich rising star from last week a new one. Snooky's goal and the chant "Snooky, Snooky" chant from the hill along with every Glenelg player swamping him when he dobbed it.
