Round 17 - WWT v Panthers @ Woodville 2.10pm Sat 17th July

The Panthers have played some reasonable footy the past fortnight and will be keen to get a win this week against the Eagles to try to get off the bottom of the ladder.

WWT will be hurting after the loss to the Redlegs though, and I would expect them to notch up a win by about 5 goals.

Will Ronnie Fuller have some tricks up his sleeve for a visit back to Woodville Oval? South (like Port) keep threatening to win (for a half at least) - one must be due very soon? The Eagles will again be hit by a number of forced changes through injury, with the Birdman likely to miss and Petrenko seemingly gone for the season with a fractured foot. A new coach at the Pahhhrrr might also ring a few changes this week so once again the Eagles side is a guessing game. (Maybe PhilH and co at the Eagles should start running a weekly 'tipping' comp to name the 21 for the next match! ;) - I definitely feel for Godden and the Eagles community with the amount of selection turnover they have to endure each week).

To point out the obvious..South really need a win, with the last one coming against the Eagles back on the Anzac Monday. :?

Can Fuller keep his unblemished record against his old club intact? 8)

To add some extra spice to the clash, former Panther 'Paz' Parry will be lining up for the Eagles. Missed the Anzac clash. (Picking out the former quality panthers in the opposition line up is just about a weekly activity..Archard, McGlone, Boyd, Parry etc)

The effort has been there for 2.5-3 quarters each week, but as we know unless you're relying on talent to get you through, you'll come up short.

O'Keefe and Horne have been outstanding the past fortnight.

I think if the Eagles are lucky to lose 3 of those AFL players who played Sunday. We may well win with some very talented youth sitting in the seconds just waiting for their call up.
With at least 1 change up forward non AFL for an under 18 state player IMHO.

Looking forward to seeing Polec come in for his first game this year.

Treeby will also come back in.

BTW anyone know what caused Rimmington to pull out of Saturday's game and will he be right for this week?

Surely we couldn't lose to South again. Seriously no disrespect intended but at home Fortress Woodville we should win comfortably.

ERNIE the game after that if required

Caught up with Ernie after the game on Osmond Terrace
He is also striding a bit slowly these days , so he might also get a gig for the Eags shortly
