From the NAFC website

Trent Sporn has announced his retirement from SANFL Football, unfortunately due injuries over the past two seasons he has decided that his body no longer allows him to play and train at the level required to play professional football. The Sporn family has had a great association with NAFC and Trent has carried on that association with a real commitment and honesty every time he represented the North Adelaide Football Club. That honesty and love of the NAFC saw him return to NAFC after spending 5 years at Carlton, since 2007 he has become a real leader on and off the field. The North Adelaide Football Club wish Trent every success in his future after football.

Achievements:
• 50 AFL games with Carlton FC from 2002 – 2006
• Nominated for the Rising Star award.
• 53 SANFL League Games, 10 Goals
• Member of the 2007 Grand Final side.
• 2007 CJ Jessop Trophy for Most Consistent.
• 2007 League Players/Player Award.
• 4th in League Club Champion 2008.
• 2008 John Phillips Memorial Trophy for Best club Man.
• League Vice Captain

One of only three North players (along with B Hart and Bamford) who could hold their head high in the 2007 Grand Final loss to Central.

Unfortunately injuries prevented him from having a bigger impact since he returned from Carlton.

End of an era with for the first time in living memory no father/son combinations represented in the current roosters league side.

Was always 100% committed to the Carlton jumper when at Blue land, and probably not given a decent enough run in the AFL.

Pity his career just went downhill so quick.
