Round 16 - Norwood v WWT @ Norwood 2.10pm Sun 11th July

Postby GWW » Sun Jul 04, 2010 9:27 pm

Not a lot separates these 2 sides, but I do think that Norwood's best this year has been a little better than the Eagles'.

Playing at home, I think the Legs can win a close one by 2 goals.

Equal on premiership points and separated by 0.74% on the ladder. Highly crucial game for both teams. Statistically the best defence in the league against statistically the second best attack. Here's hoping for a shoot out for good value as we haven't had one for a while. Norwood by a couple.

Big test for our lot... Salter is being CRUCIFIED in defence for PAPs.

Send him back to us Chocco, we need a goal kicking forward (or better still, play him in the middle aka vs Port)

Looking forward to this one - 4 point game

Perhaps Knights or Burton back this week? Smith and Polec would have to be pushing for a place as well after their performances in the U/18 champs. I reckon Hoban and Allmond's spots would have to be under heavy scrutiny.

I tend to say this most weeks but here I go again a lot will depend on the availability of the Eagles AFL listed talent. Possible ins: Burton, Knights, Salter, Broadbent. If all 4 of them were to play I don't believe Norwood could win. I will wait for later in the week when the teams are named though.

I hear ya - a couple of years ago Norwood had the same problem - sometimes 3 AFL changes and then you have to consider injuries and form of your own players, meaning some weeks you could have 5-7 changes. Not ideal at all and I must admit, the Eagles is the team I always know could have a bunch of ins or outs any week.

After two games @ Woodville this year, this time its a face off at Coopers Stadium on a Sunday. The last time these two teams play in the minor round. This could be a 4 point game as the battle is not only on for a spot in the five, but also for a double chance. Should be a dour struggle and hopefully the home team prevails at siren time. ;)

Huge game this. Double chance is crucial for a crack at the GF vs Central and Norwood's run home aint easy.

Also cant remember the last time Norwood beat the Eagles at Coopers. Would be another hoodoo that would be great to break.
