Eagles continue to win games with less scoring shots, surely its not sustainable all year? Got lucky with Chambo off for the game early.

far too solid the eagles.
Bad kicking bad footy and sturts jekyll n hyde form continues.
Didnt realise eags had such a good record v sturt at home.

Chambo reckons he might be right next week, didnt have it iced at the end of the game which was suprising so maybe not that bad.
Interesting to see he was on 666 goals when injured today

Since the merger the Eagles have owned Sturt everywhere.
Today makes it 36-13 I think. 7 of Sturt's wins have come in 2002, 2008 and 2009 only.

Sod the game, who won the punch up? The ex-Torrens players or the ex-Peckers?

bad kicking = bad footy dutchy. 21 scoring shots to 25 - Eagles made the most of their opportunities. A lot of improvement still to come. More players to come back in. Most important thing is we're still in touch with the top 3.

Agree but I dont think its sustainable all year.
Eagles tackling was the best part of their game today IMO

Wasn't either of them!
Pretty disgraceful scene as a stream of inebriated Sturt cheer squad members chased Leigh Treeby around the ground before landing a couple of blows.
Not content with losing the match they seemed to want to go on with it after the game only held back by the security guys. Abuse directed towards the crowd in the grandstand after the game was a sad reflection of the Sturt cheer squads mentality. It's only a game guys.
Having witnessed these guys from a distance for a few years I'm dissapointed but not surprised. The reactions of the young kids who were caught in the middle of it said it all.
Having said that, good win by the Eags today. Definitely stronger at the contest today than we have been for a few weeks now.

if that is the case...... that is disgraceful........the book should be thrown at them
we don't need that behaviour at games....especially for the safety of women and kids
even worse if it was in fact members of the Sturt cheersquad
as for chasing another teams player ande assaulting him ......that is just unbelievable
obviously the grog did it!..
so just stuff it up for everyone else who can control themselves and have a quiet drink at a game

Yeah, well done, I wonder if you gave yourself a pat on the back for coming up with that gem?
I can't comment on who was involved and what not - I was at the other end of the ground - but I did see the bright yellow vests slowly making their way over without any hurry. I did hear the radio being critical of Wereslow; I don't know how many times I have to say how pathetic that firm is.
And regardless of who was in it, I hope the club demands an inquiry into what happened. That shit is not on.

Thought 5 minutes into the last quarter we were lucky not to be down by 4 goals. Instead we were up by 2 or 3 goals and then finished the game well to run out winners by 26 points.
I thought Giuffreda's smother to save a goal in the 2nd quarter probably told the story of the game. Eagles just did those little things better and to be able to score 4 goals with the ball hardly getting in to our forward half in that 2nd quarter was the difference. Sturt in the meantime couldn't kick straight to save themselves and with that inaccuracy probably kiss goodbye any serious threat they may have been in 2010.
I though Jarrad had a fantastic game at half back. Grocke presented well at Centre Half Forward and continues to be one of the most under rated players in the competition. Rowntree, Rimington, Miles and Giuffreda all played their part well. Day showed promising signs and if he can keep his intensity up for a full four quarters could be a very handy player - if not he will fall by the wayside.
A fantastic result and now gives the chance to cement a finals position over the next two weeks before the 2 week bye.

Sturt cheer squad are a disgrace. Have been for years. They decided to park themselves right next to the Eagles cheer squad for a start. Bunch of brainless morons. Cheer squads in general are just embarrassing.

I know after the match, I saw someone in an Eagles jumper giving it to a Weslo staff; and there was an argument in amongst Sturts' cheer squad. I thought they had improved their image over the past couple of seasons.
