Mid-season Review... who for the Grannie?

Postby csbowes » Mon Jun 14, 2010 9:55 pm

Well we're at the halfway mark... so why not do a straw poll and see what the punters are thinking... and apologies for not putting in North Adelaide (or South Adelaide or Port Adelaide for that matter)... all gentle abuse is welcome!

No South Panthers options in there csbowes - have you written them off - has the South culture been too good for Ronnie this year?

I think Ron has done his best... but the South culture is one insatiable beast... its like the Borg from Star Trek, you can fight, but in the end, you succumb and become part of it...

I don't think Centrals are as good as last season. They're progressively getting worse, problem is the rest of us are doing an exceptional job of staying below them no matter what...

I think the Tiggers are a real chance this season... I'd give Norwood a chance in the grannie as well, but I think the rest of us are way too far off the pace to even bother the Dogs.

Glenelg v Centrals.
Two-horse race this year, like many of the Centrals/Eagles years in the first half of the decade. Norwood are just off the pace, like Sturt and Port were most of those years. Eagles and West no chance. Blues are still a smoky but will have to come with a blistering run from the Elimination final, something we have not seen for a great many years.
Most seem to have Centrals as a monte for the flag this year, and most Dogs fans seem pretty confident given their injury run but feel the Bays may be more dangerous this year as hunters rather than leading the pack.

Plus Dog's just can't put 4 flags together... unlike some other class outfits... forget which one's... ;-)

just remember they still have a few out, plus they lost a couple on saturday against west, i think central have more room for improvement than anyone else given their injury list.....very scary for the rest of us imho :( :(

Yeah, my memory's no good either. ;)
Unfortunately we are a very socialist bunch down at Oval Avenue. Win one, then let someone else have a go.

Dogs v Bays .. Sturt the team that could have the required improvement to get there, but basically I think the same 3 from last season will fight it out.

Took the words out of my mouth, no abuse required. Wouldn't include North in a poll for the top 5 let alone the GF.

Centrals v Bays for me, with Eagles to lose in the prelim.
