Round 13 - Central v North @ Elizabeth 2.10pm Sat 19th June

North has the most difficult assignment in modern day SANFL football this week, and will need to improve considerably on recent form to be any chance against home side, Central District.

I would expect the Bulldogs to win by about 10 goals.

Dogs are so far ahead of the roosters it's hard to make a case for a North win. But stranger things have happened. I think this is an important game for both sides. Dogs wouldn't want to let the comp think they were slipping with 2 losses in 3 games, and North need a win to keep their finals chances strong.

With everyone saying the dogs will win in a canter I get nervous. That is when we don't play at our best (ie 2002 GF).

The team is unsettled at the moment as well with changes every week.

I think I need to tip North to give them the kiss of death

Yeah the Dogs will be forced to make a couple more changes this week and to key position players Schell and Havelberg.

Reichart may come back into the side and i wouldn't be surprised if the Dogs selected Jason Sutherland for his debut, meaning Hardy can play in his more regular position of Full Back.

May also get Henderson and Griffin back from the Crows as well as Nash from the Power.

With the Crows having the week off with the AFL split round, those that played last week for the Crows can't be dropped back to SANFL so Henderson and Griffin wont play.

Nash, on the other hand, can be ommitted from the Power because they do play this week, Sunday against the Kangaroos at Etihad, but I doubt he would get the axe from the Power.

Jsutin Westhoff may get called up to the Power, which would mean another tall for the Dogs that would go out of the side. I read on the Monday Morning Centreman article on localfootysa that Havelberg is to have scans this week on the calf and will be in doubt for this week but Schell only slightly jarred the knee and may be right to play this week.

I think Reichert may come back into the side as well, depending on what happens with Clint Alleway and whether he gets suspended or not, otherwise I reckon Roy Laird will just reshuffle the defence a little.

Could only be the one change for Central this week with possibly Ryan Williams in for Daniel Havelberg?

I think this game may be a lot closer than people think.
I can see us struggling in terms of talls, particularly if Westhoff goes up to the Power and Schell and Havelberg are both injured. North have a very tall forward line and we could be stretched to cover this (in fact, some of our players probably need to be literally stretched to match up on their opponents!)
Don't be surprised if D. Motlop is also playing for North this week.
Cheers

Based on what I saw Saturday night that's more of a plus for Centrals than North....

The break was required by our supporters so they have time to think up more complaints about the umpires
