Shocking game of football.

Both teams ultra defensive

Dogs were much cleaner with their skills

Enough said

I thought the final scoreboard was very flattering to West.

Centrals had more class, skill, toughness and team work. Callinan's performance today just confirmed what I had always thought, the most damaging footballer in the SANFL. He is a class above. I hope for his sake he gets another crack on an AFL List

I struggle to name West best players. Thought Silvester and Webb played a good 4 quarters, Caruso Bros showed some spark in the final half.

Agreed Blood Bath. Another BOG performance from Callinan. Trent Goodrem & Andrew Hayes are guys who have really improved this year. I thought James Boyd's second half was very encouraging also for doggies supporters.

Only sour note for the dogs was another injury(calf) to Daniel Havelberg. Who didnt play the second half from what I could see. Extra disappointing due to the fact he was playing very well up until the injury at Half Back. Although I thought Jack Gunston did some good things down back in the second half as his replacement.

If North/Sturt are to knock anyone out the five IMHO it will be West.

Possibly the most boring game of football I've ever witnessed......we should have called it a day as the 'Dogs 4th goal sailed through part way through the second quarter and gone home and got some much needed sleep.....two 4am starts in a row coming up for many 'Dogs fans :D

Wasnt in the game after 1/4 Time. We really need ruckman.

Good effort by our reserves after being 5 goals down for most of the game and to steal it. Langers tackle in the dying second was great.

West Adelaide u/18s won 105 point

Today's game was one of those game where you say 'Centrals won. That is all'.

The first quarter was ugly. West constantly turned the ball over, then Centrals would turn it over. Both sides only scored 1.1, and Schell received zero protection from the umpires.

The second quarter was all Centrals, slamming home 5.1 to 0.0. Schell finally got noticed by the umpires, and West Adelaide began to capitulate, giving away some silly off the ball frees.

The third quarter was just as ugly as the first - 1 goal each again as West Adelaide continued to give frees off the ball, and Piansente was very lucky not to be reported for his cheap shot on Jenner (amazing the ump called play on).

The final quarter Centrals jumped out of the blocks with two quick goals. West Adelaide then decided to focus on the ball and kicked 4 of the last 5 goals as we won by 23 points.

West were really bad. And the way they structured up in the first quarter looked like they were going for a 2-1 win or something. Not sure how the dogs wre ultra defensive, 80% of the first quarter was spent with the dogs trying to get a mark inside 50. Perhaps the comment should have been how good the dogs were when they lost possession.

Anyway, Schell and Havelberg with fitness clouds again. Hardy starting to get used to being up the ground more getting involved a bit was good. Callinan is all class, and the dogs were too skilful, tough and worked much harder. Gunstan looked more at home this week than last, but you'd think Reichert will be putting some serious pressure on to came back into that defense.

A few junk goals makes west look better but with the dogs controlling the contests all over the ground and west kicking just 2 goals it felt more like a 10 goal win. Most west fans seemed to be keener to complain about the umpiring in the first quarter instead of worrying about why their team was totally unable to win any themselves. Unless West have more in them than what they showed(a lot more in fact) they won't play finals. And it's hard to imagine any amount of improvement to see them win a final or two this year, but you never know.

And that shepherd (whoever the West player was) I was expecting to see the book come out at the time. I'd be keen to see the replay if someone recorded the game and can upload it.

Didn't see myself but spoke to 5-6 different people who all sit at different spots at the ground and they all said he played well.

He is only playing for the Dogs when Berri have a bye or association game as they did today.

Westies seem to be suffering with the recent losses of players from their league list and seem to be struggling with a thin list at the moment despite their efforts over the past two seasons to bolster it. With North and Sturt also struggling it does give West the capacity to challenge for a finals spot, yet whether or not their list has taken the next step from last season is not quite so easy to determine. With the Eagles at home it come up as another game West would be required to win to show improvement, yet I am not so confident at this stage, yet am more than happy to be proven wrong!

As for Central, they clearly took their foot off in the last 1/4 after having done enough to win it and seem to be coasting along towards another finals campaign without to many problems!

Central 1.1 | 6.2 | 7.4 | 10.6 (66)
West 1.1 | 1.1 | 2.6 | 6.7 (43)

Qu x Qu results:

Qu 1 - equal
Qu 2 - CD +31pts
Qu 3 - WA +3pts
Qu 4 - WA +5pts

CD continue to struggle in the second half. As per Scott's ladder, they have won 4 third quarters and 3 third quarters all year. If teams can stay close at half time they are every chance (on the stats at least) to run over Central in the second half.

What i meant was i spoke to 5 or 6 different people who dont know each other, one sits on the members, one sits on the outer, one stands behind the goals for example.
