Gilly if you click on "2006 info" you'll see the profit and loss for each club last year.....

That'll give you a start on the info you require....

North had record profits the last 2 years, with 2 business's doing well, I wouldn't have thought there would be too many worries.

Actually i'd say they go alright in S (eptember) it is more O (ctober) that they have problems with. (doesn't work quite as nicely though)

Still i'd like my side to have to worry about playing in October.

Norwood is asset rich cash poor. They own a premises on The Parade, but it doesn't return any revenue. The cash flow problem has been compounded because they're spending fist fulls on lawyers to gain a booze + gambling license for their new social venue.

Sturt is in the poo because their social club was losing cash for a while, and they're still yet to open their new venue. However, they've also bought a sublease on another pub, which should give them a revenue stream until the new premises (which they will own) is complete.

Port runs close to the red line because they're rorting the living crap out of the salary cap. So they say.

If North is in the poo, then we're in trouble

My understanding is that Norwood's in some serious strife. They're losing money hand over fist as this pokies saga continues.

The Legs will be okay in the long run, but our fans should brace themselves for a similar set of reports to last year

The Legs are up $hit creek as it was in yesterday's local paper that they are getting rid of the community club coz it ain't makin em any dosh. So all the old stagers that play snooker there have to go somewhere else now. $turt & Norwood really do need to..........amalgamate.

At least there's some light at the end of the tunnel for Sturt (unlike Norwood).

And what do you base this on Ms69?

Everything I've heard - and read - suggests Norwood's pokie problems aren't any closer to being solved. And it's not as though the club's treading water waiting for a decision - it's going backwards because they are continuing to pay for the site even though it's not actually making them a cent.

Depends who you listen to and what you read I suppose ... Don't get me wrong, the problems are significant and certainly sizeable, but I don't for a minute think there is no light at the end of the (lol long) tunnel ...
