I don't think its mental. I think they've lost the ability to play as an aggressive and determined team.

So can they turn it around? Yes.

Will they? Not this season.

Sturt will finish, at best, 5th this season.

no, strut not gone yet

just look at the makeup of the top 5, having norwood and west up there is quite different from last 3-4 season (with full respect to the quality they have delivered thus far) and they still need to maintain this style of footy for the rest of the season. in other words anything can happen

No they're not gone but to make the fianls they are going to ahve to win 7 of their last 11 games.

They play Centrals, Eagles (both at Pecker Park) and Norwood twice, along with every other side once. Arguably they have the hardest run of the sides battling for the finals. For example North have to pay South, Port and Centrals three more times.

Realistically they have two win all their games agaisnt Norwood, Eagles and their one agaisnt North and West as realistically they are all four point games for Sturt.

Anything is possible though, so I am not ruling them out.
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

gone or imploded?

Realistically Sturt has every chance of making the finals, thanks to rubbish like South and Port holding them up on the ladder.

WE'RE ****!
But for some reason this thread is the 10th time today that I've been told we have to win 7 of our next 11 to make the finals. It's not AFL. You can make it with 8-9 wins in this league meaning we only need to win 5 of 11.
Anyway, as I said, we're ****.

Voice, you wont make the five this year with 8 wins and a draw. Nine (six more wins) and a draw, maybe if you're lucky but to be safe you'll need 10 wins. Your draw could prove very handy or could result in tears at the end of rd 23.

Win next game and West lose to Central same round, only half a game out. Eagles may even lose to Port next round so could only be 1 point off 4th place in a fortnight.

The Sturt football club will be playing finals in 2010.

can belt contenders like Centrals and Glenelg but falling in a heap against everyone else. Cant do that.

We'll sneak into the finals but I wont have to worry about booking flights for the GF.
It's all the SANFL's fault.

Not sure what draw or year you are looking at am bays but North only plays Centrals once more (thankfully) and have South , Port, Eagles and Bays twice more not three times as you have suggested?

D'Oh, was trying to memorise who was playing who by scrolling through the fixtures thread, knew I'd phark it up. I meant twice instead of three too.

Looking at Norths draw compared to Sturts you'd have to say they have an easier remaining draw, so of the sides outside the five they are the one most likely based on the draw.

Not ruling either of them out for finals in 2010, as we were in a worse position with respect to wins:losses in 2007 and managed to make the finals

Before the loss to West I thought it didn't look too bad, now it looks pretty dire unless we can get it together which we've shown we can, I can't see it happening but if we DO get it together and get focused, make the finals I think we can do some damage. The one thing going for us is that we don't have many injuries. Hope springs eternal in the human breast.
