Congrats to our boys it has been a long time since we have beaten sturt (2002?)

Really giving ourselves a shot at the top 5 this year which hold us in good stead for next year when we really should be aiming for a top 3 spot.

Sturt are in massive trouble now, struggling for consistency.

Do they have many out injured?

How safe is Luke Norman in the job?

I picked West midweek to win this game and the result panned out as I had (unfortunately) expected. West have the grunt and determination that Sturt are sorely missing. I definitely congratulate West on the win, it was important for them to get the points and keep the confidence going that they can make the major round. For Sturt, I think it is the nail in the coffin. The season is lost, any attempt to make the finals now will simply be for the betterment of statistics and not to impact GF day. My biggest disappointment is that I just don't rate Norwood, West Adelaide or Torrens highly enough to threaten Centrals.

I'm going to jump on the Glenelg bandwagon and hope they do us all a favour! :-)

Sturt have had ZERO consistency the entire season. They've dropped players, reduced the leadership group, all to no avail.

If I were Norman, I'd drop about 10-12 players and bring the reserves up. The season is shot and the players aren't getting the message, so drop them back to the Magoos for a few weeks to make the point.

Injuries aren't a problem in my opinion.

Today's win gives the team more than just 2 points, it gives them belief.

Having beaten North and Sturt this year, the 2 teams that have had the wood on us for many years, the players must now surely believe that their best is good enough to match it with any club.

Timely bye next week, get a few injured players back and onwards and upwards for the rest of the year.

What smashing the Dogs at Elizabeth one week then losing to the Maggies a few weeks later at home is consistent. Strange world we live in. ;)

Trust me, amongst the fans, they were ringing well beforehand. I gave up after the Port game, it became clear that each week I hoped they'd return to 2009 form was another week I was deluding myself. I think Sturt needs to concentrate on avoiding the spoon and blooding some younger players, as we're not that far ahead of Port.

With your list and the expectations of a top 3 finish (as you said at the start of the season)..........you might just be correct Clarrie ;)

It was good to hear the commentators mention that Westies captain Ryan Ferguson was back at the game in the last 1/4 after being taken off to hospital again after apparently recieving a knock at some stage in the first 1/2.
Hope all is well with him.

Thanks for asking mate - Skipper was OK but sore after game -- other injury to young Greenie (shoulder) hopefully will be OK.

Big win in context of where the Westies team is at this time but I do think all should remember the final margin was 6 points - one straight kick?

Well done to Mannum Football Club and all their volunteers (believe up until early hours preparing) - great day and very friendly environment -- anybody like to guess crowd, seemed rather good considering the rainy/cold day.

On radio they thought bout 3000-3500. If so that is a good effort.

Crowd was about 3063, I think, according to the Sturt Manager at after-match presentations.
