Anyone seen the Benchmarking Document released by the SANFL? Warren Partland has an article on it on page 64 of the Advertiser. looks like it could have some interesting facts. Where can it be viewed?

One snippet is "Woodville-West Torrens used 11 interstate players in 2009, the lowest of the clubs, followed by Central District and North Adelaide with one more."

Last year 31 players transferred to the SANFL, 19 less than 2007. This year only 20 have been recruited from interstate.

Must admit I was suprised to read that 6 clubs had more interstate recruits than North.
No suprises to see North have provided the most draftees to he AFL in recent times though.

Membership numbers a bit out of whack because of the extraordinary sign ups by he Maggies.

That's a useful stat. I can use it next time someone accuses us of buying premierships. :D

It's on display in the bottom of a locked filing cabinet stuck in a disused lavatory with a sign on the door saying 'Beware of the Leopard'.

No - even did a search and got lots of :benchmark" moments from game reports, but no future directions or research document.

Maybe Jai gave them too much credit expecting it to be up this soon ;)

Haven't found it yet but will keep looking. At this rate I reckon Dutchy should be offering a prize for the finder ;) Apparently it IS on there but it's needle in a haystack stuff.

I did find this report on Junior Football - not sure if people have seen this?

Not just 85WAGY...I get the 'page not found' thing with Opera and Firefox :-??

Maybe they're in the process of updating cos a search of 'sanfl benchmarking' in Yahoo gives a link to that 'about the sanfl' page as the location for last years benchmarking doc but any mention of it seems to have been removed.

You could always try getting on to the Tiser and insisting that they provide the supposed link Jai mentions...

http://www.adelaidenow.com.au/sport/afl ... public_rss

- Messenger Community News is running paperwide coverage of the SANFL Benchmarking document this week. Articles looking at what the report says about your club will be in paper and online by Wednesday. A copy of the report can be found on the SANFL website.

JAS

It was seen leaving the party hand-in-hand with the ABC running sheet.

I received an email from SANFL today:

"Thanks for your email. We weren’t aware that the link was not working for external users!"

The Benchmarking Document is available for viewing on the SANFL site here - http://www.sanfl.com.au/files/_system/F ... arking.pdf
