obviously after these first 9 rounds i think sturt & north have been the 2 most dissapointing teams given both teams expectations for this season, obviously a few back to back wins will turn around their seasons in this most competitive season we've had in a long while, but i think sturt marginally in front of north as the most dissapointing so far......what do you think ?

as for the team that has improved the most i think it is an obvious choice with that being norwood.....what do you think ?

Yeah Sturt and North would be the most disappointing in my opinion.

Probably Sturt, especially after a great seasons last year and their recruiting in the off season.

Can't argue with either of you...

For me the most disappointing team is Centrals, they look to be just as good as ever.

Agreed. The dogs are the only team to have disappointed me this season - on ANZAC day.

I'd have to say Sturt - building to be a stronger premiership contender, and so far haven't lived up to that.

North by a street. Sturt were always going to struggle with a young squad and high expectations.

Norwood clearly the most surprising.

Sturt then North. Sturt looked like they would improve on last year with their recruitng. North hav a history of mediocrity and played about 2 decent games last year so no big suprises although if you went purely by how a side looks on paper and if Ackland had been playing then North would be closer to Sturt.
I've found West disappointing too, expected them to improve.

Surprises- Norwood, Port (sitting bottom I know, but I reckon they’ve shown a bit)
Disappointing- North, Sturt, West (to a lesser extent)
As expected- South, Centrals, Bays, Eagles

Agree Wedgie, I thought they may have won a couple more games. Like some other teams, injuries have effected them.

Overall Sturt, but from a personal perspective North, then again the thread could then read "after 19 years which team has disappointed the most?"

Normally a few injuries to key or Senior players is an accepted excuse except this season IMO

If you look at the 'dogs, they have had an horrific run with 3/4 of a league side missing for large chunks of the season so far and apart from one poor perfromance on Anzac Day it hasn't really appeared to have affected them.

Either their depth is much better than most teams (which I don't think is necessarily the case) or they are just a mentally better outfit than the rest of the League (which based on the last decade is more the obvious reason) and new / fringe players who come into their league team seem to fit in well from the get go, lift to the required standard and game plan of Laird and co. and they don't seem to miss a beat with the disruptions. Centrals now have have a culture / formula of not accepting second best or mediocrity despite the circumstances and to be truthful you never hear their club make too many public statements about anything. They keep it all well in house which is part of their discipline and success.

It's a pity the majority of the other clubs can't do the same and replicate the model although I have no doubt many are trying.

Think a lot of early season disappointment will be rectified to a degree over the remaining rounds .. Whilst I very much hope Im wrong, I'd still think the finals will consist of the same teams as last year.

I'm obviously VERY disappointed with Sturt this season... they've totally underperformed compared with last season.

I'm most surprised by Norwood, they've shown excellent form in recent weeks and if that continues, they'll definitely get my vote as the surprise packet for the season. Pre-season I had them picked as a soft target...

But I must add, I've become disappointed in South. They started really well with regards attitude, getting a couple of wins, but in recent weeks have fallen back into the 10-goal losing side they were last year.

Ideally, I'd like to see both Sturt and South turn it around big time...

West have done about as well as I expected, I expected them to improve, they have and will be a better prospect in 2011.

Centrals... groan... geez, just 15-16 games from another flag it seems. Bastards. :-)
