If your team was at full strength with NO injuries, would Ben Nason get into the side if he was still wih you guys ?????

I watched him on the weekend and his disposal by hand and foot is ordinary at best and any kick he had under pressure just went nowhere and came straight back
- I just wondered if this was his downfall at getting a regular game with the Dogs but either way he's laughing as he will probably play 17+ games at Richmond in 2010.

Nope.

P.S To clarify, not on last years form. He would have had to improve a bit. Close though.

Over the course of the season last year he improved and of course got his opportunity at league level because of both his good form and injuries to other players.

It is quite unique that he is getting a game with an AFL club, but as sjt posted, I'd tend to agree he may struggle to get into a FULL strength Doggies outfit.

Having got to know the lad well personally, I find it hard to be too critical but from what I have seen of him in the AFL, he has some proimse but still has a lot of work to do, mainly as mentioned, on his questionable disposal when under pressure.

In a nutshell, I reckon he 'could' force his way into the Doggies side given time !!

So a full strength CD outfit would beat Richmond?
Hawthorn only beat Richmond them by 3 pts maybe CD would topple them too.

Nope, I'd doubt that. I don't think the answer to one question logically answers the next question.

i think you will find he put on 5 to 6 Kgs of Muscle over the pre season and beat his best time at the dogs in the 3 km time trial by around a minute. and at the start of preseason the Richmond Heirarchy didnt think he would play AFL but Improved out of sight. so the More intense AFL traing has helped a lot, so he is good enough to be in Centrals team now, but if he stayed in SA with the dogs he could still be playing reserves. look at Cameron Hitchcock he wasent good enough to play league for Glenelg last year, but now if he doesent play AFL Glenelg supporters would love to have him

OK but Hitchcock exudes a touch of class and finesse which are definately 2 qualities that are not part of Nason's make-up.
- Good luck to the kid but when Ive seen him he's a fair way short of being a good player.

Without the AFL pre season NO he would be playing in our reserves if we were at full strength.

If he had done an AFL pre-season put on 5kg and beat all his personal best running times, and then came back to Centrals, yes he would probably play in our league side, all he was really missing last year was body strength and a big enough engine.

If Central were to play Richmond imho it would be close for a half but Richmonds superior fitness and body strength would see them run over the top of Central quite comfortably especially in the last quarter.
