A few weeks back, West were well on top of Norwood in general field play (especially in midfield), but somehow only won by about 3 goals, aided by a last quarter fade out. Was that the case tonight? If so, is it fitness?

while port were as brave & resilient as ever west was never ever going to lose & i think the fact that west had 1 left on the bench helped port a bit, poor old chubby sprinted to do a sheperd in front of the benches & 'twang' the hamstring went so he'll be missed for a few weeks, i thought ferguson was outstanding especially early & i think he looks more dangerous a forward than willets does so perhaps willets could go to chb with ferguson to a more permanent chf, caruso (n), ezard & bennett for his 3 goals were the better players for west while for port it was the usual cloke, kirkwood, i also like the look of rose, solly, milera & mcinerney as future great players for them, i also think clinch has improved from last year........i just wish the siren went 4 seconds earlier

Anyone know how serious Webb's injury is? Will he be out for the rest of the season?

Despite the fade out, it'd be a happy time at Westies overall - third in both the league and reserves.

Great to see West Adelaide get the 3,000+ they needed last night to better there total home crowd figure for last season, only into Round this year.

Last night there was 3,583 people, which is what most estimated on the night...

Great stuff Westies, night footy a winner !!

I wouldn't think it's fitness AH; we came home hard against the Dogs out at Elizabeth in the last quarter, and against the Eagles in the last quarter. I suspect it's more mental - over the last few years we haven't had much experience at being 7 goals up during a game.

I think it is more to do with being forced into having limited rotations late in a game.

So the league and U18s score was exactly the same? Wouldnt have happened too many times I wouldnt think (with league and one of the other leagues).

And Port only 1 point away from kicking the same score in league, reserves and U18s.

Thanks JAS looks like a few posters are suffering from CODS

CODS is not necessarily a male condition as it stands for Co-Ordination Deficiency Syndrome....

Sorry, I, and I assume Macca, were just commenting based on the scores provided at the start of the thread - next time I'll make sure I go to the game before making such an ill-informed comment. ;)

Anyway, shouldn't the condition you speak about be named CDS as 'coordination' is a single word and not hyphenated? Perhaps a deficiency in coordination of syllables? ;)

Great night under lights at Richmond.

Another "Plucky" effort by the Magpies but they just keep shooting themselves in the foot with the slow starts and poor conversion in front of goal. :((

With some bigger bodies in Kory Beard, Daniel Stanley and a tall J Butcher due to play within a couple of weeks, there's plenty to look forward to.
