SANFL/SACA SURVEY

Postby CUTTERMAN » Wed May 12, 2010 6:40 pm

Why aren't members of SANFL clubs being incorperated in this stadium survey? It's going to affect the structure of the SANFL, where games are played and dividends returned back to the 9 clubs.

Because they aren't SANFL members, I guess.

Should SACA also survey Grade club members?

SANFL clubs don't own Footy Park though, the SANFL do.

The SANFL clubs ARE the SANFL and hence they own Footy Park, juts like they own the Crows and Power.
More importantly I dont think the SACA even own Adelaide Oval, I thought they leased it or something similar?

SACA lease the land and own all assets on that land (aside from the money owed to the bank for the current Western grandstand development).

The SANFL are an administrative authority governed by the 9 clubs. That doesn't make the SANFL answerable to members of SANFL clubs.

Yeah I thought they leased, the people they lease it from should have a bigger say in what happens than the SACA IMHO. The SACA and anyone to do with them should have minimal say if any. Just a pity the Libs didn't get in like should have happened as it wouldn't be an issue.

I just find it puzzling that they're interested in what SACA, Crows and Power members all think but not what SANFL club members think, surely they would get a wider view of what the footy public want and think. It's only a survey after all, not voting rights!

It's all political, and it really only matters what will tip the swinging voters the desired way - not those who vote Labor anyway.

Given the SACA own the assets being put up in the deal, they should get a major say and given the Govt can (and will) declare major project status and eliminate council from the process, I wouldn't think giving council a major say and SACA no say is all that smart at all. But one mans smart is another mans gobsmackingly stupid, I suppose.

Where the new hospital is proposed and preferably with nothing to do with the SACA.
