A fiery encounter

Postby eaglehaslanded » Mon May 10, 2010 9:57 pm

By the looks of all the match reports the Eagles vs North contest from the weekend was quite a fiery encounter. There have been 5 reports laid from the game: Whyman (Striking) & (Rough Conduct), Cicolella (Striking), Grocke (Striking), Salter (Charging). Not getting there due to amo committments and only seeing the last qtr of the game on tape I can't comment. The question I pose of anyone that has seen the game in it's entirety is do any or all of these men have any time on the sidelines coming to them.

Whyman, Salter and Grocke will almost certainly get games. Don't know about Cicca.

You obviously haven't been watching the SANFL recently. Will be a bigger joke if he isn't found guilty.

Shouldn't Whyman have been sent off if he was booked twice, or has that rule been scrapped?

Maybe the second report was a video report?

Your question is still valid - does that send off rule still exist? And how many players have been subject to its application? (I think Garry McIntosh was the first one, but have there/were there any others since?).

Reckon Craig Balme was the first wasn't he?

Classily he spat on Romano Negri who'd been knocked out cold. Not Craig's finest moment.

Well that explains that but the rule is still in and according to the SANFL so is a free and 50 metre penalty when a player gets reported on the ground. One was paid against Whyman late yet when Grocke was reported nothing - the Eagles retained possession! My "mail" is that the umpires were confused and made the wrong call inthat case. If that is true then the umpiring standard is really a joke if they cannot be clear on the basics after a report!
Piss weak SANFL and the CLOWNS who run it.

Typical North, it's Wedgie's fault, he incited the thuggery with his comments on The Roost! North are becoming the Port of old. Fos Williams WOULD be proud! ;)

McIntyre was stretchered off, Thring wasn't.
Wyman and Grocke would seem to be gone, Salter 50-50. A joke if Cica gets suspended, careless free yes, but even to be reported

There was a West Adelaide player sent off about 2001-2002 towards the end of an elimination final as well.

Might have been Sam Jones I think. I remember him absolutely losing it in an Elimination Final, his last game for the club.

IIRC that was the game when Dale Fleming lost it at Adam Richardson late in the last quarter of a game safely in our keeping, and thus earning himself a holiday for the final v Port the following week :?

Certainly was him.

He was (trying to)making up for a cheap shot Troy Clements had gotten him with earlier in the year and he wanted to square up. It was obvious it was his last game for the club when he got sent out a msg to come to the bench and sent back i will be off in a minute anyway.
