Round 8 - Glenelg v Eagles @ Glenelg Sat May 15 2.10pm

The Bays will be looking at getting on the winner's list after their disappointing effort against Norwood.

How well the Eagles do could be partially decided upon the availability of Salter (tribunal appearance/possible AFL promotion) and Schulz (possibly AFL promotion).

I'm tipping a Glenelg victory by 19 points.

mickan v godden

i'd expect this to go down to the wire but i'd expect a big response from the tigers & with the home ground advantage might just get us over the line.....the tigers by 8 points

Whether through suspension or the Power, we are going to lose two of Salter, Schultz and Grocke. Staple, I presume, will still be out injured - this could have been his chance to grab.
An Eagles win will start to really put a gap between the two sides and the rest, and the Bays will be competing for just one double-chance spot with another four sides, obviously a situation they don't want to be in.
Bays I think will regroup and win comfortably, around 35 points.

Would expect Day may come in to consideration if Grocke/Salter/Schwarz can't play. Parry also looked good from what I saw of him in the 2nd half in the reserves. Wright and Rimington would be putting on pressure for a spot as well. Though I doubt we'd make any changes unless forced. The strength of the Eagles so far has been the even contribution and the stepping up of players such as Geddes, Rowntree, Hill, Cheep and Goldsworthy as well as the addition of Lewis and Greiger.

Glenelg were the benchmark in terms of pressure and hardness at the contest last year in the minor round. This will be a good test for the Eagles and the beginning of a massive fortnight with Central the week after. At least one win from the next two games would set us up nicely.

Excellent point Aerie. Greiger has been a real bonus from what I've seen, have to admit I wasn't expecting too much. Geddes was pretty good yesterday, Goldsworthy with a bit of experience doesn't go missing like he used to, Rowntree is improving all the time.

The Wiggles by a mile, The Bays won't make the 5 now. They've lost their mojo!

Eagles should win easily but maybe the bays can cause an upset. What is the Eagles record like at the bay ?

Not so sure about that.

Reports & AFL teams will have BIG impact on selection.

Without Grocke & Salter - Eags will struggle IMHO

If you can get an 'early price' about the Bays - I'd take it.

Greiger also injured (foot). Maybe Hill to fullback if Geiger out.
If Salter is outed for what he did, the SANFL has become real soft then.

This becomes a real danger game for the Eagles now with the loss of Grocke & Salter to injury. With the injury of Tredrea for the Power and Sater's unavailability one would think Schulz would get recalled.

I would assume Schulz will be taken by the Power as well? Paul Stewart certainly didn't do anything to impress on the weekend (although I think he could turn in to a very good AFL player).

So out Grocke, Schulz, Salter.
In Parry, Broadbent, Day

My team:

F: Welsh Hill Goldsworthy
HF: Cheep Day Treeby
C: Rowntree Powell Geddes
HB: Jarrad Miles McKenzie
B: Allmond Greiger J.Stewart
R: Guilhaus Broadbent Banner
I: Parry Lewis Cicolella

I actually think your boys will get up* in this one...

Glenelg by 4 goals for mine...

I want the Bays to win no doubt, but their " Jeckyll and Hyde " form at this given time makes me doubtful
