Score board attendant did cop abuse in the first quarter,Centrals way too good, but from Ports i like the way they keep trying and continue to play instead of giving up.

Great win by Centrals today. First and third quarters we were just sensational, we were on fire. Second and fourth quarters were much tighter, but we won the second quarter and Port just outscored us in the last. Schell, Gunston and Sansbury were fantastic, kicking 5 goals each.
The umpiring was a disgrace today. I'd be very interested in the free count because it looked like Port got an armchair ride from the umps. Umps did just about everything to keep Port competitive (even uncessarily recalling bounces that slightly favoured Centrals). Also, what have Centrals done to cop Richard Williams in 3 out of our last 4 matches!
The Port scoreboard attentant was about as bad as the umpiring in the first quarter - took 19 minutes to get the score correct (failed to put up Port's first goal, then put it up as a behind, put one of our goals up as Port's, and I lost track what the hell he was doing with the behinds). Got a well deserved bronx cheer when he finally got it right.

In 1972 I made a mistake on that same Alberton scoreboard
But people were different then, and I was politely told to change the scores
Today we had a very crass irate spectator who incessively abused the scoreboard attendant
There was a barrage of insults
There was constant swearing
He verbaled the attendant for about 45 seconds
Thats the worse offensive behavior I have seeen in 5 decades of watching footy
Utter disgrace

I agree with what you've said here. Yes he made a complete mess of the scoreboard, yes he deserved a light hearted bronx cheer, but prolonged verbally abuse to him for it is stepping over the line and uncalled for.

Good old fashioned shoot out
CD gave PA a lesson today
A pleasure to see forwards one out against defenders most of the day
SANSBURY/SCHELL 5 goals each, we come to expect that
And we saw Jack GUNSTON kick 5 goals as well, a very talented footballer
Steve SUMMERTON looks like Bucky Cunningham
Today he played like Gary Ablett junior around the goals
An elite midfieder , and today a goalsneak
His goal late in the last qtr, turning his opponent inside out was a rip snorter
Once again a good game to watch by 2nd on the ladder and spooning on the ladder

I was impressed with the space in Centrals forward lines something that hasnt been there the last couple of weeks. I know we belted North but they were terrible worse than the Maggies today.

Listened to the game on line this morning. Sounded at least like Port kept trying to the end. And that's all you can ask for from your team. Centrals way too good for an inexperienced Port side.

Is it just me or is our club doing well with the mini draft picks,we usually only get what is left as in the last three years Henderson and now Gunston are fitting in well.
Gunston kicked 5 today and looks very promising, maybe the fact that these lesser lights (at least in other clubs minds) prosper playing in a team that has a winning culture.
I thought the boys played well today and we had some great passages of play and we are slowly getting towards playing four consistent quarters and with over 15 players from the league/reserves still out injured we are only going to get better.
All played well!!

DB. No, it isn't just you!
I also believe we have benefited with really good players from the mini draft, considering we usually receive what is left over. Don't forget Brent Guerra, Michael Stevens, Ryan Williams, Jonathon Griffin, Ricky Henderson, and now Jack Gunston who from memory was the Crows 2nd round draft pick.
Also remember we received Bowen Lockwood, Jarrad Schofield, Stephen Paxman and Jacob Surjan with 3 of those being moved to other clubs 2 to Port Magpies (coincidence?) and Paxman to North Adelaide with Schofield playing only 3 or so games over his time in SA.
The majority of those players looked more than happy to play for Centrals with a couple of exceptions (no names) with Guerra, Stevens, Williams and Griffin being Premiership players at our club.

This game reminded me of High school
Teachers vrs Students footy games
CD brilliant to win this game
PA have been creamed by NW/CD in the past few weeks
The positive from those defeats is the way PA have played out the games, doing OK in the last qtrs

Pretty routine victory for the Dogs. Considering they should get Gowans Hayes Boyd Henderson Duncan M.Westhoff Symes back from injury after the bye.
Port tried but simply dont have the cattle.
Jon Griffin's last two weeks have been excellent I thought he towelled up M-John. Although i thought Cloke had the better of Buckets. When Cloke was in the ruck Port seemed to get back into the game.
What a great grab from Brayden Ohara in the first five minutes.
BETTER PLAYERS FOR THE DOGS : Sansbury Griffin Gowans Williams Gunston Spurr Lawry Schell
Summerton is a superstar BTW.
