Are Sturt Imploding?

Postby SANFLnut » Mon May 03, 2010 5:13 pm

Sorry, bit cheeky but couldn't resist. Maybe we need a weekly poll - Which team is imploding the most this week?

1983 as well. Wasn't that meant to be West v Norwood? Tell us we're crap and wont make the Grand Final.

Everyone wrote you off in 2002 and last year? I think you might be exaggerating?

1983 and 2009 ?

When did we start measuring success by coming second ?

I remember a time when Central measured their success just by making the finals.
These days all teams (except Central) have to measure success by finishing second. It's all we've got ;)

i thought secret groups were a thing of the past, well not on websites anyway

seems to be a contagion spreading through the SANFL Bayman, very socialistic, everyone has a turn! Roll up, roll up!
Maybe the Bays took Sturt too lightly going by our form!
Truth is at the moment there is no form in the SANFL, apart from WWT maybe.

Yep. Centrals took us incredibly lightly too. An ANZAC disgrace I tell ya! ;)

And they escaped against Norwood and were beated by South, so you wouldn't really say their form was rock solid.

That's why I said "maybe". Depends your view on WWT getting beaten by South.
South have improved but I think a case could be made for WWT taking South too lightly.
But yes, WWT are by far the most consistent, with no real shockers.

I'd actually say that Port has been most consistant. Always competitive and having a crack despite their list.

The formline around Port is very interesting:

Round 1: Lost to Central by 11 points. In round 3, Central win by 27 pts v West (bye in round 2)

Round 2: Lost to W/WT by 23 points. In round 3, W/WT win by 18 pts v Norwood

Round 3: Lost to North by 3 points. In round 4, North win by 54 points v South

Round 5: Lost to Norwood by 35 points. In round 6, Norwood win by 79 points v Sturt

Round 6: Defeat South by 22 points. South's round 7 opponent is West.

Westies haven't had any real shockers as yet either.

They have been competitive in every game so far.

West actually. The rest of us only played off to see who would lose to them in the GF.
