Round 7 - Port Magpies v CD @ Alberton Sat 8th May

The Magpies will be looking at consecutive wins after notching up their first win of the season against South.

Central District hit form in round 6 though and should be too accomplished for the young Magpies.

MY TIP: CD by 21 points

As long as no supporters attempt to affect our players we should win easily, no disrespect to the Magpies

Funny you should mention that, because the last incident before todays involving players and spectators was CD v PA at Elizabeth if I recall correctly. ;)

Centrals should beat a very young, but determined Port outfit by about 7 or 8 goals.

Should be a real interesting game, Central were very impressive in their win against North while Port showed lots of passion in their victory over South.

AFL selections will be of interest for both sides here with Ports best including Cloke and Trengove while Nash and Griffen were both named in Centrals best.

Apart from AFL selections i don't think the Dogs will make too many changes, i hope Reichart gets another chance i thought he was very good on debut, going in hard at every contest and commiting to all the one percenters, didn't look over-rawed at all.

Personally i would like to see both Schell and Goodrem play in the forward lines as i think we look most dangerous with them there.

The baby pies have some really impressive young players
TRENGROVE , his 2nd efforts and tacking are excellent
SUMMERTON is a complete player now
MCINERNEY shows flashes of brilliance
MILLER is a very skilful player
LYCETT is only 17, looks a player
SOLLY could be anyhing
MILERA is outstanding

The one I am impressed with is 18 year old Matthew ROSE
His disposal skills by foot is extremely good

Thank goodness PA didnt fold this season
If Bamford can keep this squad together this team could be a force within 2 years
However I reckon some of these baby pies will get drafted by AFL clubs especially since the AFL is hellbent on a 200 team comp by 2187

Unfortunately probably 2 or 3 of those will probably be playing with the Gold Coast next year.

Young Matthew Rose was actually the weekly winner of the Powerade Star Search competition. I have also been very impressed with what I have saw of the players you listed above as well mal, particulary Milera, Solly and Rose

Pity Derrick Wanganeen went down (* required here?) so early in his debut game.

I saw a few U18 games last year, and he did some freakish things.

He is a very good user of the ball and a good decision maker. He played in the Power/Magpies trial game at the start of the year and went really well.

Let's not get carried away yet, We have only played 2 quarters of acceptable footy this year so far, the 1st quarter against Genelg & the last against Norf. The rest has not been acceptable. If Port can keep the ball off Us & pass between Summerton, Clayton & Cloke, then they will win.

I agree mate. I expect a very good showing from the Magpies this week. We have been far from disgraced at any time this year ( maybe the 'Legs game ) and if we keep Cloke and Trengove ( which we will ) the confidence that was missing 3 weeks ago to go on and win a game is now there.

I am quietly confident.

The forgotten man at the Pies is Dolling. He's vastly underrated IMO.

I'm actually quietly confident about this week too!!

Once again can't make the game

Bamfords baby magpie midfield
Without doubt the most exciting group in the sanfl
One thing PA has done over 3 centuries is to produce good local talent

Im that impressed Im gunna go to see this game at Alberton
I will be in my deckchair below the scoreboard, watching a good game
I wont barrack for either team, but will barrack for a good brand of footy, which I am confident I will see

Booney come and sit with me, that way I will look skinnyier
