Round 6 North v Central @ Prospect (Sun 2/5)

Postby Big Phil » Mon Apr 26, 2010 10:40 pm

The Dogs will be keen to bounce back against the Roosters this week after a performance on the weekend that saw the Double Blues dominate every aspect of the game.

North will be desperate to improve their goal kicking when under pressure and this one should be another great game of SANFL in 2010.

Not sure what way it will go yet result wise, might think about it a bit more ;)

The last couple of times I've been to Prospect Centrals have handed out almighty thumpings to North.

I don't think it will be the same this week but I reckon Centrals will get over the line, just.

Whatever happens I'll be there to cheers the boys on. :D

Surely Hardy comes in the side this week, also don't think Gunston is anywhere near ready to play league football as a key forward.

Last year at Prospect, North pumped the Dogs by 50 odd points in the mud, if my memory serves me correctly ?

I think North will be too strong for Central this week, particularly with a good Rooster midfield and some quality forwards, including Daniel Motlop if he plays.

North by 5 goals

Ditto (sadly) - last weeks "loss" will play on the mind of North players and the mental and physical toughness of Centrals coming off a big loss will be too much IMO for North, who will be unsettled with more injuries to pacey players in Ryswyk and Whyman.

It would be very handy to have Ackland back (who is taking an eternity to get over his "routine" off season knee clean out) to release Alleway to play the whole game up fwd - wonder if Healy will bite the bullet and pick O'Hara however that would leave North way too top heavy up fwd - especially if Motlop is sent to Propsect this week?

Well then obviously my memory didn't serve me correctly, thanks otr

Good one memory !!

That's right, the Dogs won last year at Prospect in that game where Damon White had that controversial shepparding free paid against him just as North had the momentum.

Matt Westhoff kicks a goal from the resulting free kick and the Dogs win by 4 or 5, again if my memory serves me correct this time round ;)

That was the first trip to Prospect last year. The second trip we dominated from the outset and won by about 50 points - and that margin flattered North as they kicked the last couple of goals.
They don't keep me here because I'm gorgeous and 5'10

I reckon a few years ago the Dogs were a certainty after a poor performance the week before, however I seem to recall some back 2 back lacklustre efforts over the last 2 or 3 years. So on that basis, I don't think there are any guarantees of us coming out firing on all cylinders. Also, the injury toll catches up after a while and it isn't as easy to "flick the switch".
Players win touches, Teams win matches, Clubs win Premierships.

If he makes the final cut, good luck to young Jake Hazeal in the Central reserves team...

The young lad played for the SA Under 16's side last year and is actually my nephew !!

Good luck to Jake if he gets a game !!

That is a very strong line-up and will be hard to beat...

...although Sturt had little trouble beating them last week.

Wears 29
18 years old
Jack Gunston
Does he '''''shave '''''yet ?

Impressive debut by Jack Vrs ST
Reads the play well, and leads up well to players upfield
Played forward early, and impressed up the field as well later in the game

Definite talent

He is an emergency for the crows this week.

If the crows continue their injury and form slump you could see him playing for them sooner, rather than later.
