Round 6 Norwood v Sturt 7.40pm Fri April 30

Postby GWW » Mon Apr 26, 2010 10:30 pm

Both clubs will be looking at continuing their good form from round 5.

My tip: Sturt by 33 points.

Crows could have a big hand in this one. Jaensch or Walker or both will go in to their side. Norwood need a marking forward and Jaensch sounds like he has nearly been Sturt's best player this year. Craigy has links to both , but who will he favour??

Really looking forward to this game, love the Friday night Sturt games at the Parade, as mentioned Crows may have a bit of influence on the line ups but I still think Sturt can cover the loss of Jaensch better than Norwood can cover the loss of Walker.

One other thing.
The silence was deafening! Thought all you "better than thou knobs" would've kicked up a fuss at the Advertiser's misprint of Sturt's points total in Monday's paper, (19, not 9). Very insignificant I know, but thought I'd bring it up just incase all concerned have run out of vas or broken your mirror.
Maybe you just feel bigger when dishing it out to a young volunteer.
Back on track, apologies to those with a brain.

well which sturt team will turn up is the $64.00 ? the brilliant team that played glenelg & central or the other team ? logic says sturt have too many scoring options than norwood, if its dry i'd think sturt easily, the match up most likely to help norwood (if he plays) is walker on thurstans & i think walker would be too mobile for thurstans, even so it wont be enough.......if it is wet i give norwood an undeniable chance as their record in the wet against sturt is pretty good from memory & that is there chance...bassett to do a raindance ;)
i thought secret groups were a thing of the past, well not on websites anyway

Jus wondering how Sturt will go coming from the wide open spaces of Elizabeth to the Narrow confines of Norwood Oval..Heart says legs but the brain is just leaning to sturt.
Who will get Chambo? Maybe Duigan or Zorzi as he generally plays well on him.

With the exception of maybe Port I reckon most opposition supporters would have loved these for years given how easy we've been to roll.

I rate Sturt's list and coaching box, so obviously I have very little confidence for this one ... Just hope we can put in a competitive performance.

Can't see Zorsi going to Chambers .. No question of how well he plays him, but I don't think we're deep enough in the midfield to afford him missing, and to be fair we need to build a back 6 that can challenge in the years ahead, so I'd think Duig's probably gets one of the hardest gigs in footy.

Lower has kept Chambers quiet before.

Jaensch is a huge blow to Sturt, his form this year has been outstanding. Been in the best players every week and has been racking up 25 odd touches each week.

There are plenty of takers to replace Jaensch, although he will be missed. The unbeaten reserves team has quite a few lining up to replace the newest Crow debutante :)

He is a classy unit, but looks like he needs a little more experience. Will play league footy some time this year though-he has a great "footy brain" and his skills are good, though not as silky as Jaensch.

Matty Jaensch has been named to make his AFL debut for the Crows in the Showdown, on a wing...

Good luck to him, is a very good player but will be a blow to the Sturt side for this game...

Taylor Walker NOT picked in the Crows side but will be interesting to see if he is an emergency or not and is held back from playing for the Redlegs ?

Good luck silky! He's been giving us alot of run and carry from a hbf and will be missed.
I think Bratton back last week certainly helped us and he's just about as silky as silky with his feet.
Maybe Sharples can come in for a run this week.

Both SA's AFL sides changes for the Showdown- does have ramifications of the SANFL

Crows INS - Stevens, Bock and Jaensch (no Talyor Walker ?)

Crows OUTS - Henderson (inj), Knights (inj), Dangerfield (inj)

Power INS - Davenport, Krakour (no Nick Salter ?)

Power OUTS - Logan (concussion), Lobbe (ommitted)
