this saturdays game at alberton...why ?

Postby bayman » Mon Apr 26, 2010 8:43 pm

i know they have to have at least one game on the tv on a saturday but why play it at alberton when there is going to be 40,000+ up the road ?, it will cause patrons, volunteers & players etc going to alberton delays, whichever game it was to be it should be away from alberton or woodville for the traffic
i thought secret groups were a thing of the past, well not on websites anyway

Ive been to quite a few games at Alberton when the Crows have played and there's not been any issues, the half hour time difference means its cool. Just plan it smart.
Im more annoyed we have to play our 3rd Sunday game in 4 weeks, the only Saturday game we have is the one weekend out of the four when Monday is a public holiday!

Not an issue as far as travelling to the ground is concerned. Staff, players, volunteers etc would be there way before any traffic issues. Plus its a Crows home game so there wont be too much traffic around alberton.

The real issue is why there needs to be a game on Sat afteroon when a showdown is played. Why cant the ABC show the Norwood v Sturt game delayed to the Sat afternoon slot?

I can't recall the Magpies having ever played at the same time as a showdown though?

Last year (albeit an important match late in the season Sturt vs Glenelg) ABC decided to do the Sunday game so they can do it.

It is interesting. :?

Showdowns no different to most Crows games as far as traffic goes. If anything it might make it better as it'll be more spread out. Hardly a drama.
