Vital game for both especially the Eags who have North, Glenelg and Central after West. A loss to West (which is a distinct possibility) will put the pressure right on.

Will be an interesting game this Sunday, West will have the scent of blood after seeing the Eagles get beaten by South, no doubt Collins would have watched the match today with interest.

One would think that the Eagles would come back stinging this week though, all the makings of a really good game of SANFL footy! 8)

Been talking with my lad .
some who may come into the side
Hoops so that Miles can play CHB
Day or Dawson up Forward .
Jimmy Stewart .

This is a massive game for both clubs at this stage of the season. Realistically these two are probably fighting for the same 5th spot on the ladder at the end of the minor round so a loss here may come back to bite.

I agree with some other posters that James Stewart deserves a chance in the league team. He looks the type that could be a quality league on baller and no doubt will be itching to give it everything having returned to the SANFL this year. I would bring Stewart in for Treeby, who desperately needs to find some touch. He has been average all year, despite trying hard and still putting in the effort. Other than that I'd leave the side unchanged.

Up until last Friday nights training Jimmy was very very Propy .
Not Certain what to do about Treebs .
Another one finding it hard is Staple .Do we leave him in or do we bring in either Dawson and Day to replace him .Seeing both had hell of a lot better games against south's seconds.
Or do we drop Hill for that indiscretion in the last quarter bring up Hoops and play Miles at CHB.

Lucky I aint a selector.

I reckon Staple is doing ok. With forward targets Grocke, Welsh and Salter he is not going to get much of a look in. Watching him a bit on the weekend - he works hard to clear space in the forward line and when he has to go he goes. Worth getting game time in to - he will only get better.

Hill was very average on the weekend. I actually think he is one of our most important players. He has the ability to do well at CHB and he has already shown glimpses this season. His performance this year will go a long way to determining whether the Eagles are a top 2/3 side or just run of the mill.

I wouldn't think Godden will make too many drastic changes after one poor result.

Ronaldson leaving the club and lobbe (Power) leaves a gaping hole in our side with A. Hartlett looking like he will miss yet another game.
A great opportunity for young Borholm > Its amazing how depth can be eliminated so quickly and its only rd 6

I agree 100% with your comments Aerie except I would go further and say he is completely overrated. He consistently talked of as an A-grade midfielder and yet I would only say he has only ever had one good consistent year with the club and that was a couple of years ago.

He is one of these players who looks flashy and people remember such an effort. However if you look at his stats he rarely gets more than 15 possessions which is not good enough for a midfielder.

If he is going to be played primarily as a midfielder in the league side he needs to be sent a rocket to lift his game and gain consistency or be dropped to the seconds to find touch.

However rather than being played as a midfielder I think he has value as more of a permanent forward. He always seems to kick a couple of goals there. So maybe play him there with minimal bursts in the midfield

Treeby is a vital cog in the side who is playing with an injury, limiting his effectiveness.

Expect James Stewart to replace Rimington and possibly Corbett to come in to give us drive from the wing, something Treeby hasn't done. Treeby, on reputation only, to get another chance, at half forward in place of Staple - disagree with Aerie, can't have a tall like Staple just making space, a "small" can do that and crumb as well. Expect Jarrad Wrigt to replace both in 3 weeks as he picks up on match fitness.

To Mickayl, can't understand what you see in Day and Dawson. Dawson only seems to be able to play one position well in the Seconds- full forward after being tried at HB, HF and wing. And at 184 cm, he's not going to take the big speccys in the A grade - unless he changes his game, developes some elusive ground play away from goal, he'll struggle to make it. Day is a real workhorse, a "GROCKE" of the B grade but hasn't got any real weapons

Both SA's AFL sides changes for the Showdown- does have ramifications of the SANFL

Crows INS - Stevens, Bock and Jaensch (no Talyor Walker ?)

Crows OUTS - Henderson (inj), Knights (inj), Dangerfield (inj)

Power INS - Davenport, Krakour (no Nick Salter ?)

Power OUTS - Logan (concussion), Lobbe (ommitted)
