by 85 WAS A GOOD YEAR
No disrespect meant to Nwd (or JAS) but how the heck did Norwood win?
I've seen them play twice this year and thought they were a shoe in for the wooden spoon. :?

So how must Gordon Pickard feel?
Even when he tries to hand over a $20,000 cheque to the Magpies, they stuff it up.

No worries...you're as entitled to an opinion as anyone else...I'm not sure how we did it ...I'm just bloody glad we did.

As much as I love having him play for us, my hope is that it's not a case of young Walker being a lucky charm...we need to be able to play and win without having to rely on any one individual player...

That said I hope we get to keep him for a few more games yet :D

Tonight Gordon Pickard donated the use of his yacht "888" for the NFC gaga auction. It's for use in June IIRC, will be moored in St Tropez at the time and comes complete with onboard scooters and an onboard Mercedes Smart Car. Should fetch a nice price!

I think everyone's a big gaga about it, but it should have said GALA ;)

One of those fruits is Pickard's new $4 million, 76ft Horizon named Triple 888 Eight.

"It's my lucky number," Pickard said. "I had it built in Taiwan and have had it for four months. I use it for both social and charity events."

The vessel features a hand-crafted wood interior, a main bedroom with ensuite, leather lounges and room to sleep eight.

Have to say it... I'm pretty disappointed with that result.

I was really hoping Port Adelaide would win... would much rather see Norwood come last this season.

Just surprised it was so comprehensive, expected it to be close.

Was Port crap? Was Norwood just sensational on the night?

Or was it just one of those games where one side just slowly moved away from the other?

I tipped Norwood because it was at home BUT mainly cos Walker was playing.

- He is an absolute gun in the local comp. ;) ;)

spot on G, infact i changed all my tips from port to norwood when i saw the named teams, (even had a little on them at the $1.70), he straightens up norwood & they actually kick long & look sharp, the intensity was first class but the skill level a bit scrappy.....& whatabout the 'brawl' at halftime ? good old fashion stuff

while i know he apologised after, i think it was a low act for the club announcer to but in while the official ceremony of the lights was going on, kate ellis didn't look very happy at being cut off (had the binoculars on her ;) )

I'd answer your question, but after an ignorant statement like you hope Port would win so Norwood could finish bottom, you can stuff yourself. And there I was so pleased Sturt finally did well against Central ... last time I'll ever do that.

Agree Walker makes a big diff
But so does David Trotter

NW miles up at 3/4 time and % needed for a top 3 chance !
and what happens ?
This might be wayyyyy off the mark
BUT
Did Neil Craig before or during the game instruct Bassett to play Walker up the ground
Walker played on the half back line in that last qtr until about the time on period

Is this mindset of playing Walker up the ground on the AFL amd a lIttle in the SANFL stuffing him up ?

FFS Walker is a goalkicker not a midfielder defender or what ever

I went to both games today
CD V ST was a far superior pre match itinery compared to the NW V PA one

The PA seconds players who had been beaten were made to stay on the ground about 20 minutes
If it was entirely for the Anzac men fair enough
But the PA 2nds had to watch and listen to about the new lighting , the stands and whatever else [ I just listened to the AFL whilst it was happening] was wronggggggggg

And whats this obsession of playing loud music at the footy grounds ?
Wedgie has complained about having a headache from Noarlunga last week
Well the lads that rolled up tonight including me got frustrated listening to it

This was the first night game I have been to at the parade for about 2 years, might be the last one as well for a while

Congrats to the CD mob for thier pre game stuff, thumbs down for my mob tonight

Two very very ordinary teams at the moment

Port looked quite good for the first half of the last term though the result was already locked in

Than cr@pvertiser hasthe crowd at 6665 - either figure is great and shows SANFL footy is alive and well. Lets hope the mandarins at HQ are paying attention...give the fans what they want, live 'hard at-it' footy(as opposed to the namby-pamby 'sideways Australian Fairy/Fumble-ball League' ) and the SANFL renaissance will hopefully continue. Have to agree with Sir Red
I watched my Sanfl and Afl teams on the weekend
NW/PA the 2 bottom teams both gave it thier best shot and entertained the crowd
Both at times made boo boos but considering 8th was playing 9th it was a goodish flowing game

I also saw my AFL team SK play my equal 2nd fav team PP
This game was like 8-30 Monday mornings in the NE suburbs thats when the garbos pick up my rubbish
To watch the disintigration of football unfold was boring and frustrating
That great modern day art of AFL footy was on show, kick backwards , sideways or 17 metres forward, was disgusting
My team SK is ruining football
PP are not entirely to blame as SK made it an ugly game
Cant dispute the courage and intensity but the style footy was deplorable
Its almost got to the stage where I dont give **** if SK win or lose

DUIGAN /TROTTER
Brilliant footballers for the legs
If only they could just stop pulling thier Wattomarshstrings

BOWN
Heeeeeeez back
