This should be a great game at Elizabeth on Sunday with Sturt, no doubt, keen to bounce back from their dissapointring loss to the Eagles and of course the Dogs in good form, despite being undermanned, beating the Tigers.

Love the atmosphere at ANZAC Day games, the Parade of diggers, the playing of the last post and 2 reigning Grand Finalists going head to head. Especially looking forward to seeing how Janothan Giles goes against his old club as well.

AFL selections will be of massive interest for Dogs fans this week with AFL trio Griffin, Nash and Henderson all starring in Centrals win yesterday while their respective AFL teams struggled.

Injuries may have struck Central again with Ian Callinan coming of late in the game extremly angry/disappointed throwing a water bottle so he may have twinged his hammy again, this would be a massive loss as his in career best form, maybe even Magarey Medal form.

Of the players out injured for the Dogs, the only player i think that will be available for selection would be Andrew Hayes and a slight possibilty Havelberg will be back.

Meanwhile in the reserves Justin Hardy and NFC's man Gunston will be pushing for selection while Milne is a certainty to come in if the cows select Griffin.

Something is just not clicking at Sturt at the moment but with their season on the line im sure they will be no pushover especially against a Dogs side missing a few key defenders at the moment.

Gees I hope Callinan hasn't done the hammy again, that would be terrible...

Spoke with Daniel Havelberg after the game, he said he reckons he'll miss about 6-10 weeks...

The Dogs may possibly lose Griffin and Nash as whufc eluded to, but the reserves showed some good form so someone else will step in.

I think I'll tip the Dogs by a couple of goals in a close one...

Geez that means Havelberg, Gowans and Cochrane are all more than 5 weeks away from playing!

If we are to lose Griffin and Nash i think it will be Hardy and Milne to come into the side.

Unfortunately I can't make it to this game but it's very hard to back Sturt at the moment, the last 1/4 against the Eagles was very very disappointing. It will take a monumental turn around in attitude to beat Centrals. Sadly I don't think there'll be the same atmosphere for an ANZAC Day clash out at the Ponderosa as there would be at AO, think it'll be more like any other minor round game. But that's life.

Agreed. You can't back Sturt in this match. We've poorly executed our game plan and put almost no pressure on North Adelaide and West Torrens when they've been running through the centre, giving up easy marks for easy goals.

Sturt will need to revert back to their round 3 effort against Glenelg if they want to be competitive. I expect them to put in a much better performance, but as long as the Dogs come to play, I'd expect Centrals to get home by 4 goals.

I'll definitely be there... only the Sturt v Port games rate higher on the agenda for me!

I have simply used it as an opportunity to contrast some misgivings that some may have about this year's Event.

Regardless, this is the ANZAC Day match - to me, the true "atmosphere" and spirit of the day stands impermeable. I'd like to think that other supporters, the umpires, the players, coaches and support staff (edit: as well as our media) also carry that in their hearts, regardless of where it is played. To me, it will never be anything like any other minor round game.

As it is, this year's ANZAC Day Match will be played on the doorstep of over 60 years of Australian defence science and aeronautic history, in the heart of a community that remains the proud home to many who have had - some still enjoying - the good fortune to be part of it.

I'm sure this year's Event will enjoy the success that it so richly deserves.

As an aside, perhaps it may serve to strengthen the argument for suburban minor finals. Who knows?

It would be nice if we could attract as many Defence personnel to the game since it is a special occasion and it is in their backyard.

Can't see how suburban home finals can ever work.

I had the feeling Sturt were already thinking about ANZAC day last Saturday. I kind of hope it's true in one way...i.e. keen to get a little piece of revenge for the GF, just as the Eagles did for the 1SF...but in another way I think if that's the case then they have got way ahead of themselves.

I, along with many others, wont be surprised if we get thumped next week.

Still, if we can pull our fingers out and miraculously scrape a win then it wouldn't be a shock either...highly unlikely though. We are just so hot and cold at the moment
