Rd 4 - West v Norwood @ Richmond (Fri 16/4)

This game should also be a good one, love going to Richmond full stop, it's a bonus to be going there now on a Friday night under lights.

West will be keen to bounce back from 2 losses in a row and Norwood will be desperate to get their first win for the season.

I would think West will be too strong in this one and would think a big win will be on the cards.

Bloods by 7 goals for mine...

Depends Phil - Will A. Hartlett, Willitts, Silvester, Gray, H. Hartlett be availbale this week. If A. Hartlett and Silvester play and Willts comes up from his injury then I think your assessment will be right but... Will they come up or be available. Schmidt is a loss - surely he will stay with the crows after a reasonable debut and the additional injuries they have sustained.

Since when was a 7 goal thrashing a "good game"?

Depends which team you support...

If your side is on the end of a 7 goal loss then it's no good in your eyes, but itsn't really a thrashing is it ?

I would have thought 10+ goals would be under that category, but hey, it doesn't matter...

I think this will be a good game of football to watch regardless of who wins and by how much...

Even with their defence personell out I think West will win.

Could be a low scoring game but Norwood has not enough forward power to score more than 10 goals :(

Both sides undefeated under lights at Richmond Oval
Massive game
WA need to win to keep alive its chances of playing finals
A NW loss could cost it a top 3 spot by seasons end

One of these sides will join NA as the only teams to have lost under lights at Richmond this millenuim

IF WA can score 9+ goals they are highly likely win this
Of no rain :
WA 15-14
NW 7-11

Having seen West last week there is still a massive gap between there best and there worse football. Their best is as good as any and there worse is as bad as any.

Wests record at home is excellent over the last year and even though they have a few injuries they should still have enough quality in their midfield to have possesion for most of the game. Most of Wests injuries are to their backline so lucky enough for them they are playing against one of the weekest forward lines in the SANFL.

Serious question for Norwood fans, how much time willl Bassett have, what is the expectation from the Norwood board, If Norwood go 0-4 their season is over without doubt and will have nothing more than avoiding the wooden spoon to play for. I understad the recruting restrictions and so forth but alot of Norwood supporters said this wouldn't hurt them because they could recruit after March anyway.

For mine West by 42pts.

As HBT said, 3 years.

Bass has inherited a list not of his own choosing (in any way), has implemented structures across all grades, is attempting to speed up the progress of junior development, and has had to address a myriad of issues left behind by his predecessor (and Im not referring to Cott's).

All of these things take time and as painful as it is as a supporter to continue to witness the same tripe we're served up for the best part of 10 years, it has to start somewhere.

Whether it leads to a premiership one day under Bass is a great unknown (obviously doubtful to most given the current situation) but I have no doubt whatsoever, that we will be better in 3 years than we are now - How much remains to be seen.

The club is paying the price of trying bandaid fixes on a yearly basis since 2004, without ever working toward a longer term goal over a number of years.

We should not be in the position we are, but fact is we are and you can't escape that.

Without ever expecting us to hit any great heights, Im one who slightly underestimated just how bad 2010 would be for us (perhaps underestimated a few opponents too), thinking we could avoid the spoon but that's all ... At the moment, avoiding the dreaded kitchen utensil is clearly our only ladder based battle for this season.

Yeah good post c-perm,

I think Norwood need to make sure they don't full into the same trap as Glenelg, West and South did (i think the panthers on the right track now and obviously Glenelg and West are) of chopping and changing coaches and structure season after season.

Bassett needs at least three years to build his own squad from scratch even if that means 70-90% of the current squad is gone by the end of the 3 years. At the end of that period then Bassett can be judged on what he has brought to the club.

I have found interesting the amount of Norwood juniors who have been drafted to the AFL and then not returned to Norwood, i think Bassett wil really be trying hard to change that.

Terlich being omitted is a suprise to me as a Westies supporter, always liked his games.

Birss dropped from the League. Hasnt repaid the faith the club has shown him. Hopefully this will be a kick in the guts to him and see an improvement in his form.

Big ins for West, with H. Hartlett and Silvester, with Chubby named at FB.

Bench from Ronaldson, Beech, G Rowe, S Blessing and Fielke. On form, I would expect Fielke to be nervous

Any news regarding A Hartlett?
