2010 Football Budget - Change

Postby Mark_Beswick » Fri Mar 26, 2010 3:31 pm

At 2.10, I picked up the very first copy of the 2010 football budget.

The Budget has changed size. It is no longer A4 nor is it A5, B5 or C5. It is not a standard size which is a bugger for storing in plastic sleeves.

Basically the content is similar to previous years although the typeset is smaller.

After an hour at Office works, I found a solution to storing the budgets if you like to use A4 Ringbound (4 rings) folders which you can shelve in year order of collection.

I purchased a "12 Pocket Folder" A4 (Has transparent sleeves which open opposoite the rings. I then got a 4 hole punch machine and rammed the 12 pocket folder into the contraption and punched holes into it. The I placed the 12 pocket folder into the normal ring bound folders. Its a good way to store budgets if you are a collector now that they are an odd size.

Any thoughts by others on this forum on this change and others in the footy budget?

What I found most disturbing was "The Phantom" proclaiming the virtues in an SANFL official publication of SANFL curtain-raisers to AFL matches. FAIL.

At first, wasn't sure if I liked the new size, but after looking at it again this morning, I don't mind the new size...

Mr Beswick

I believe the budget is changing sioze so that it can be adopted by the Gideons as the replacement bible for the Gideons to place in hotel rooms.

All the best with your folder dilemma.....I can understand that the blessings of the Church of Office Works are bountiful

Bless you my child....and please try to get out more

The Phantom seemed to be no more than an insipid piece of AFL influenced SANFL propaganda. Not a patch on the old Hatchet, (from the Football Times if memory serves?)

First they offer AFL tickets as part of SANFL packages, and then in the first week promote SANFL curtain raisers! You can see it coming a mile off regardless of the fact that most SANFL diehards I know are strongly against the idea.

Spin doctoring in it's most obvious form
Players win touches, Teams win matches, Clubs win Premierships.

Hey, I know I plagerised the graphic and gave it my club's colours, but to publish that image in an "Official Publication"...with the name!

Wouldn't have been so bad except the fact he was wearing a Nowood guernsey.
I used to love the Phantom but I reckon the leader of the Bandaar tribe would have more chance at catching crooks than someone in a Norwood guernsey!
Its disrespecting the ghose who walks!
The story begins over 400 years ago........
