sat night 27th

the reigning premier versus the life support team, i saw port first hand today & they had a crack & didn't wilt under pressure when glenelg made a 'mini' charge at them, however central at home is a completely different contract & central should open up their winning account...central 6 goals

The only good year Port will have is beating Centrals in a Grand Final.

Should be a real close game, Port have generally played well in early season games against the Dogs and wouldn't surprise me if they beat an under-manned Dogs lineup.

For me i think the Dogs will lineup something like this

F: Callinan Frail Sansbury
HF: Henderson M.Westoff Jenner
C: O'Hara C.Gowans Spurr
HB: Nash Havelberg Williams
B: Hayes Hardy/Hynes Goodrem
R: MacKenzie Thomas Habel

INT Milne Switala Duncan/L.Westoff/Vater/Dunne

OUT INJURED- J.Gowans, C.O'Sullivan, D.Schell, S.Dutschke, R.Cochrane, H.Lawry, J.Boyd

While there is still a few stars missing from that line-up there is still enough talent for the Dogs to win at home against the Maggies, Roy will be expecting players such as Spurr, O'Hara, Goodrem, Jenner and Henderson to really step up and became key players in the side

Im pretty certain you have heard wrong, got married last weekend was on his honeymoon this weekend, is expected to be at training this week and will be playing reserves round 1, he had a pre agreement about this with Roy Laird. Well thats what a senior Central player told me Saturday anyway.

Thanks WHUFC. I agree that he has been married, honeymoon etc, but has he actually signed? As of last weekend he had not yet committed to Centrals.

Honestly i don't know, unfortuntaly i don't write the contracts down at Elizabeth, i can only go by what i was told from a senior cdfc player, you seem to know more than myself so maybe you can enlighten us on what your exact knowledge of the situation is and where your getting your info from.

Perhaps read the post above mate!

Port supporters will be out in force this year. Our sides need all the support they can get and the fans know this.

I think there is an element of the port crowd that won't be buying food/beer etc at away games as a protest though. Personally, I'll be enjoying a lager or 3 and a pasty or 5!

Lets hope this is not the case for Ports sake. If this was found to be true it could be more detrimental to Port if oppostions supports did not buy from canteens at Alberton.

Lets hope most are like you and are not going to be petty. You need to get out and support your players and enjoy the day, not worry about spending money that will benefit the oppostion.

I wouldn't be surprised if he was told by the coaching staff not to expect a game for the first few weeks given much of his pre-season has been missed. However, given Yves departure and Hardy's injury, maybe this will be revisited.

Agree totally. There's no point being petty. Water under the bridge. All I care about now is Port playing good competitive, entertaining footy and finding a way to be sustainable off the field.
