Trial Game- Central vs Norwood @ Hamra Homes Oval 13/3

Once again i don't think the result will be of real importance for either team. More importantly both clubs will be looking at getting a few more players on the park in the second week of trials.

Norwoods first trial was a game of two halfs narrowly going down to North, this will be something Bassett will want to address and will be hoping for a consistent 4 quarter effort.

Central accounted for the Eagles in their first hit out and will be looking for second tier players such as Habel and Frail to step up once again and press for a round 1 spot.

Actually I think the game was a trial in every sense of the word, for both clubs. It was all about trying things out - kids in this position and that, 6-8 on the bench, no scoreboard etc etc. I heard Healy giving instructions to the runner and he was much the same with trying different things out on the day.

I'm expecting a step up this week, with probably a stronger side to be named, but it will still be a trial game in almost every way I'm sure.

Looking forward to seeing the Doggies in 8 quarters of football ;)

A full game at both reserves and league level will be a much better hit out...

Yeah Kris Grant was fairly angry about the game only being 6 quarters, but unfortunatly thats the only way they could have played the game. I guess thats why the Central league side played four of the quarters and the ressie blokes apart from a couple played the first two quarters.

Would like to see Havelberg playing this week as well as Heath Lawry who gets better at CHB with every game he plays in that position.

I thought Mitch Frail showed lots of potential in the first hit out and would like to see how he goes with a league regular standing him.

The other player to watch out for will be Kyle Jenner, missed last years GF after playing a fair bit of league football. Was one of our best against the Eagles playing solely on the half forward flank and deep in the forward line. Last year they tried to run him through the midfield as well, i think they may have given up with that theory and will just leave him as a small forward.

Norwood should get Will Young back, Central will get Henderson most likely and he'll be a gun for the Dogs this year, 30-40 goals from the HFF.

I should be able to make this one.

Heath is not playing any of the 3 trials, he has prior committments, therefore will probably get sacked by Fuller! Thank god Roy Laird isn't as "tough".

I'm pretty sure it is Adrian Mark...

He played in the league side during the Eagles trial last week, wore number 55...

Is originally from Central United I'm led to believe but played at Virginia in the Adelaide Plains League the last few seasons...

One of those prior committments includes getting married, I think this weekend or next, so congrats to Heater and his wife to be...

So I'd suggest Roy will get Heath to start the first couple of games in the reserves to get some match fitness back...

Still not as bad as celebrating like you've won the Grand Final when you finally beat Centrals in a minor round match...:-"

Norwood have kicked 10 out of the last 11 goals. Our defence is dreadful and the umpiring's worse.

Might be about time to resurrect the Centrals implosion thread...

Only 6 goals...we've come back from worse deficits at 3/4 time in our 2008 and 2009 finals campaigns...

Get over it, it's only a trial game.
