First trial game for all and will probably see 26 or so players for both teams.

Like most, keen to see the newer players but will like to reserve judgement on them to season proper. Too many guns/can't plays are decided upon in trials by supporters. We had so many young ones last year, I will be looking for their improvement. I am expecting that they will have added some body mass (badly needed) to make the individual contests a little more even.

Daniel Bass (Power Rookie) is supposed to be playing and given that he has not played a game for 5 or so years, will be interesting.

Suspect South teams that line up on Saturday will be far differant, from teams that line up on Rd 1 so would not be reading anything into scoreboard. Really looking forward to seeing how South numerous "potentially good" recruits handle their first taste of SANFL football. Hearing really good things about Guy O'Keefe and Nick Liddle. Will also be interesting to see which team Bass lines up in. Suggest if he were at any other Club he would certainly start in the B-grade, but with South lack of tall-timber, maybe he'll go straight in the ones.

It will be interesting to see who is captain of South Adelaide.
Ben Warren will be close but do they want a captain who spends a lot of his time at Full Forward ??

Very true and that applies to all sides right through the trial game schedule except maybe the last one where a coach will select pretty close to what the Rd1 side will be although many are reluctant to play all their cards in trial games and give away too much too early. Even then most of the older senior players have reduced game time as many need to be nursed into the season to get them through to September and hopefully Oct.

Anyone who reads anything into the selections for trial game teams (Seniors and Ressies) form or the scoreboard may get a rude shock come season proper.

What's that old saying: March premiers.....!

South will have something like 14 players potentially playing that have never played an SANFL game of footy before, hence I also would not be reading to much into the actual scoreboard result, the stats on which players from both clubs win their positions will be anticipated with some interest though!

I'm sure there will be something at the ground available on Saturday that has the numbers of both League and Reserves players for both clubs...

Yeah, I'm gonna head along to this one as well, interested to see both how South's new players go as well as how Mick Godden goes at league level...

I'm looking forward to watching a game of footy again .
Looking forward to watching some of the new and young Eagles in action particularly in the ruck midfield areas. Not to mention the new game style.
Oh and yes I shouldn't forget Scott Welsh up forward added bonus !
And my south player at work tells me South always win their trial games !!I did point out Centrals don't always and they win the flags ;)

I know it is only trial games, but interesting to see possible new skipper Ben Warren named in the 2's ???

Has he had an interrupted pre-season perhaps ?

Ron Fuller made it a rule that any player that missed any of the pre season had to play at least twice in the reserves before being eligible for the league side.

Ben was married in early January and went on his honeymoon.
