What club will Backwell play at in 2010

Where will Backwell be in 2010 out of the SANFL clubs these are my thoughts,

Central- mates with the Gowans, if his looking for one final premiership this could be the club for him, couldn't ask for to much money dogs don't have alot in the salary cap.

Eagles- have the Mick Gooden connection, should have some salary cap room, transfer fee might be an issue

West- his former club could intise him, most of the blokes from his day are gone, not sure if he left the club on good terms.

Sturt- would have a played a bit with Luke Norman so a connection there, not sure if they could afford another big transfer this season.

Norwood- Timing is perfect but wouldn't expect to be a premiership threat in the next couple of years so that may turn him off

North- have a successful knack of recruiting from other clubs, dark horse here in my opinion, transfer fee won't be an issue, not sure about salary cap.

Port- with current financial woes could they justify a possibly $25000 or more transfer fee?

South- could probably afford fee and salary cap but once again probably won't be premiershop threat in next five years so probably won't be appealing to him.

Didnt the Eagles drop out of the race for Boyd cause of the $ and pressure on their cap?

Looking at a $50k investment for a player who may only play one season....$50k that all clubs wouldnt have budgeted on spending ebing the time of year....will be interesting

Norwood have slightly less than zero interest in Backwell.

As a superannuated wide receiver and mercenary he really belongs at the club he just effectively quit. Go figure.

Maybe, maybe not.

The inference that Backwell is choosing clubs based on their 'premiership windows' is laughable. If that's the case he would have stayed at Glenelg. :))

Thanks to AM for being so dependable.

I must have missed the bit in the last few years when Glenelg actually won something? Other than the stats that is. :D

Firstly prior apologies to my Norwood friends who no offence is intended ...

Mate, looked in a mirror lately. If the Bays are deadbeats then what's your club then who haven't beaten them in 4 years?

I believe you have to actually make the finals to have a chance ... how's that bit going?

Even better, if you manage to win a game, you need clubrooms to celebrate in ... oh, sorry, you haven't got them either.

Now what was it that you were saying???

You actually mean this seriously? The level of delusion going amongst Bays fans is truly hilarious to the outsider. Sure, Norwood have been crap for years. We actually acknowledge our deficiencies, something Glenelg might want to take a look at. Unlike you I'm not going to dwell on your particular disasters in the last few years, I'll just point out that in the last decade we've won the same amount of flags. That's in a time when we've been 'deadbeats' and you've been worldbeaters.

Apparently.

See you in round one.

And you'll be crap for a few more years to come.

Anyway, just passing through keeping my post count up ... :-"

I voted Glenelg - this whole Backwell thing is a media stunt designed to take the focus off the Magpies, who always seem to steal Glenelgs thunder.

I wouldn't be surprised if Ms. Chantelois shows up at the clubrooms tomorrow. :D

Please dont tar us all with the same brush Topsy....

But in saying that... you have to note that the GFC has given many people much to cheer about over the last 3 years in comparison to seasons earlier in the 2000's. Sometimes its not all about what happens in the finals. A lot of people have followed Glenelg for a long time and while we may not have won the last couple of premierships we set ourselves for... we've watched a group play some pretty good and exciting footy... we won a fair few on the trot.. and the atmosphere at Glenelg home games is at a level I have not seen since the 80's.
We have had stability on and off the field... and have come a long way since I regularly saw us kick 2 sometimes 3 goals a game. I'd much prefer to win 17 games a season and finish 3rd than win 7 and never have the ability to even dream about a premiership. Sure.. they break our hearts... but from March to August they give us much pleasure these days.
