According to Graham Cornes on 5AA tonight - there maybe pending legal action by the Port Magpies against the Port Adelaide Power for restraint of trade???

Now hopefully that is just an ill-founded rumour because that is not going to do either party any good.

Now if it is true this could be a massive story!

P.S. How will the Port fans blame the NAFC for this one!

I doubt the Magpies would have the funds to do anything like that.

The Port Magpie President has confirmed on 5AA that the PAMFC board has examined the possiblity (not likely to occur) that they would take action only against the other Clubs and SANFL collectively and they would have the Power as an ally on that issue. It doesn't seem that would ever actually occur.

Theyve discussed the possibility of taking the SANFL to court, not the Power.

Wont happen though.

He just advised us of something he heard on the radio, I for one don't listen to them so appreciate him advising us.
Just like someone advised us of Rucci said in the paper.

2 - The comments made by the person in question over recent days, IMO,have been based on fact and I for one appreciate that. I might also add I have a feeling that OTR has better information about goings on than most of the punters on here. So for him/her to start a thread on such a whim and on such an ill-founded rumour, to me, is rather amazing.

BTW, this is not the topic to go "fishing" in.A little too emotional, you think? As a bite is always assured in such circumstances.

Its amazing that someone lets us know what they heard on the radio yet we have dozens of other people make up rumours with no substance that they dont hear through any medium?
And OTR came on and advise us exactly what the correct version was as soon as he heard it.

I respect the opinions of OTR and although the thread is marked "rumour" I am dissappointed the author felt it worth reporting, for if we reported every "rumour" around town we would be no better than some of the much ridiculed media of Adelaide.

Just my opinion, might not be worth much....

I would have thought the fact that he came back and advised us exactly what the true situation was is a credit to him, and you seemed a little more than "disappointed" with previous comments.
If someone had just made up the original rumour and left it at that like many have then there would be cause to be disappointed.

Well Booney I actually thought this week you were one of the few rational port people posting on various forums - clearly i was wrong. All I did was post exactly what Graham Cornes said on a PUBLIC Broadcast and also posted when I heard your President come on and clarify exactly what was going on. Pathetic Booney having a go at me for that!

Fairmont Homes to the rescue, good ol' Gordon Pickard. Wouldn't it be great to have that much money to be able to walk out, buy a pub and help out a footy club. That should sell him some houses but can't see many Portonians venturing to Golden Grove from Ethelton & Semaphore on a winters night. Might be some merit in relocating en masse to Golden Grove after all!

Well of course I thought it was rubbish in terms of one Port club taking the other to court but the clarifying statement at least confirmed that there was in fact discussion held by your Board re legal action against the league which of course one would exopect to be examined in circumstances such as this. Sorry I didn't make my self clearer in my original post but I thought you may have guessed when I put 3 question marks after the comment that - was suprised. Anyhow Booney - can see your point to a degree but it is hardly the same as some of the Rucci rubbish which has been proven to be very incorrect on many points. Play on and btw good luck too re the survival fight.

He ridiculed Rucci, but didn't have a go at those who reported it on here.
Perhaps you should be ridiculing Cornes and not the person who reported it on here.
