North are programmed to play Port last in 2010, there's no reason it should change.

I think it should as North are a disgrace! Who are they to disregard the Port merger?

"Tell him he's dreaming"

I voted Norwood, obviously, but for a reason, the rivalry between these clubs has for over 100 years been second to none,
play it at Alberton, so we can dance on their grave for the last time.

Only joking, pick a venue that will hold the crowd, then get set for a bloody, man on man confrontation, PAMFC will hold the tradition of never say die to the last man.

If it happens to be North Adelaide in the minior round as per the schedule, North fans had better hope they do not play finals because their won't be many left standing to go on

Cheers

I voted Norwood but would suggest either them or Westies, reason;

The rivalry built up over many years :D

How can any of you find humour in this? You really would like to see the Magpies die, would you?

I cant believe the attitude of some posters, who I respect, towards this situation.

8 clubs, 1 hybrid, the new kid on the block the boss, yep, it will really still be the SANFL.

Booney. I'd prefer to have the Magpies in the SANFL as I like Alberton, I like playing the Pies and I enjoy our current winning streak.
BUT the mess they are in is theirs and theirs alone.
No way in hell should they get any more assistance then what Sturt, North or the Bays did when things were crap for them. No way.
If that means it's adios, then so be it. If Port haven't the balls and fortitude to trade out and make the club great again then so be it.

And BTW, if this was Norths situation or Glenelgs, surely your not naive enough to think posters wouldn't be taking the piss and sinking in the boot.

SJABC, I'd hardly compare our situation of going to the SANFL and asking them to review our operations and business plan to see that there are no further improvements that could be made or that we are on the "right track" to the situation that North, Sturt or Port found themselves in it. IIRC we haven't ahd to go cap in hand to teh SANFL for money. HAppy to stand corrected on that.

Anyways I think five threads on this one topic is a touch of overkill, there thread back on track...
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

I empathise with you Booney. I love the SANFL comp and I don't want to see any of its constituents disappear. I happen to disagree with the merger proposal but I'd still prefer the Magpies to remain in the comp somehow. Perhaps the fact that a Port Adelaide still survives if the Magpies fold explains some of the levity.

If it did turn out that the Magpies couldn't continue then it would only be appropriate for 1 club that being Norwood to be their last match. They have built up a rivalry that is the envy of all others in the competition. It would be a very fitting way for them to exit the competition.

If Port don't get the support from other SANFL clubs & fold it'll give the SAAFL a big boost as the SANFL will lose the support of alot of Port supporters & i have no doubt they'll support Pt Dist, Seaton, SMOSH, Portland etc.
It could spell the end being the 2nd best League behind the Vics. I can see WA forging ahead of SA.
