Will Westies end up playing the trial games at home? Redandblack would be the man with the answer i guess?

Seriously hoping Ron Fuller gets a win here. To listen to a lot of Eagles posters you'd think Trevor Hill had been coaching them for a decade. :D

Yes it's finals time during feb/march. West could have trials at Max Basher.

IIRC our last two trials are scheduled for MBR. Looks like our first one will be there too.

As mentioned in the other trial game thread below, the team listed first is the 'home' team and has to arrange the venue and advise the SANFL.

Obviously, as am Bays mentioned, the Tigers will play their games at Max Basheer Reserve because of the cricket upgrade happening at Glenelg.

Other teams like the Eagles, Norwood and Sturt, who all have summer sports played at their home ground, will play at alternate venues as well.

And BTW, for those getting excited and counting down the days until the first official trial game, it is only 31 days to go until we have footy back.

Westies trial games will obviously depend on whether Richmond Oval is usable after the fire. The first trial with Glenelg will depend on that, but otherwise I think it's likely West's other two trials will be at City Mazda Stadium.

glenelg is out of use at the moment as they are redoing up the turf pictch and i think the ground surface so that they can play some first class cricket on it next summer.

Yeah, that is the case, as I mentioned above

Was down West Lakes way today for work and stopped to check out the Crows training for about half hour on Max Basheer Reserve...

The playing surface is in magnificent condition. I remember the Dogs and North playing a trial game there in the mid 90's and from memory...

Fine by me; I'll just wait until Round 5.

Topsy you may find a few Eagle players(wont name them not fair) wanting to show Ron he was wrong for not playing them in the league team .
Tell me with Trevor Hill gone from the Parade are there smiles all round by officials and players.Because take it from me watching from the side lines there's lots of smiles at thebarton training ;)
It wont just be players from last year wanting to prove Ron wrong some who have returned may well do the same either Feb 27 or round 5.

Knock me if you wish ;)
Love to say told u so at the end of 2010 :D
