To base a decision on emotion without the facts it's difficult to make a call ...

I just wish they'd bloody well get on with it and make a decision.

True, and we don't even know when that will be!

as stated without knowing what they want to actually do how can anyone vote with an open mind, with this poll we are voting blind....so i voted NO but if we ever hear their reasoning & it was valid i could reconsider

It's like someone trying desperately trying to hook up. Just tell the potential target what they want to hear.

Chose not to vote.
Even if it goes ahead PAM's will not be around for very long, 1 year, 3 years, 5 years it doesn't matter their goose is cooked. I would like to see PAM's survive and Power can continue to struggle and go plead their case with the powers that be at the (V)AFL. It's an absolute disgrace that every other state comp has had to pay for a license and then have been denied the cash handouts that WB, NM, Melb and other Vic based clubs have been recieving when in trouble, all clubs that have never had to pay for a licence in the 1st bloody place. That's another story though.
Haysman has basically come out and said it, the only reason why they look at the merger is because they can get the hotel for free. If this is delayed anymore then PAM's will have to sell the hotel to pay for this year and then there will be nothing in it for the Power. Simple as that, how's them apples! Loyalty and respect at its best, after all it's a business.

Outcome for The Power-
Merger goes ahead, they get a hotel and once and for all deal with the Jekyll and Hyde issue that has become Pt Adelaide Football.
Merger fails, they are back where they were but have once and for all dealt with the Jekyll and Hyde issue that has become Pt Adelaide Football without looking like the bad guys.
Outcome for the PAM-
Merger goes ahead, they lose their hotel and are on life support for a couple of years hoping for a miracle.
Merger fails, they sell their hotel and fold at the end of the year.
Outcome for the SANFL Clubs-
Whatever the outcome is, don't let the Power go under.

Why not just go out on a limb like Apache and assume its a Reserves Side etc etc...

Whilst I hardly agree with him these days, Studley's piece in today's fishwrapper was spot on for mine.

And keep it up Booney ... I'd be doing exactly the same as you in the same position. It's a shame emotion overides facts for some.

As much as it burns me, the comp needs the wharfies. Part of me would be happy for them to go, but a bigger part of me longs to see the chimney with the Red, White and Blue atop the black and white.

An excellent post Cutterman. I hesitantly vote yes though only because the SANFL needs the Magpies on purely aesthetic / traditional grounds. Much as I've learned not to trust their revisionist, wily ways, even in their currently crippled form Port still offers something intangible that few other clubs do and as every caped crusader knows, you need your enemies to test your resolve and stir the emotions. What did Roy and HG call it? Harnessing the Hate? With the caveat in place of course that if it doesn't work out the clubs can vote it down after 3 years - which admittedly would be very hard to implement once the wheels are in motion.

According to an article in this morning's Sunday Mail, its a done deal, no merger approval, no magpies, no power grubby hands on the Prince of Wales, therefore No Power interest in the PAMFC

8 team Comp in 2011 thank you very much, or the PAMFC actually get off there arse's a get to work like all of the other clubs in the past without hand-outs.

Worse case scenario is it becomes a 21 round Comp each side plays each other 3 times, one home, one away and one at neutral Adelaide Oval or as a support to the AFL game at Footy Park. Gives all sides 7 Games at Footy Park before the finals,
that's fair.

By doing away with the Magpies and having no byes the slack taken up by the club missing the bye actually playing means another home game and a chance to equalize funds lost by PAMFC demise.

No sobbing on my behalf, just a final eye for an eye

Cheers,
