The National AFL draft on thursday, i honestly can't think of a recent draft which could have such huge implications for teams as this draft could.
Central are in danger of losing up to 6 players which would be impossible for any team to replace given such short notice.
Sturt will no doubt loss Jack Trengove (which they have known for a whole season) but other players such Michael Coad are talked about as possible draftees, trying to find a 6ft plus utility would be a huge challenge for any recruiting team.
Norwood would be another team sweating on the draft, with their recruiting ban inforced any league players who may get drafted such as Sam Rowe would be irreplaceable.
With talk that many mature age players maybe drafted do people think there teams season could be decided on thursday?

Agree whufc, Coad will be hugely missed, his efforts in the prelim this year will help his cause, the AFL clubs will be ready to pounce on any player of size, speed and skill playing consistent quality footy, the SANFL being the best comp outside the AFL we will be squandered, this year is just the start of a slow demise in skill level of our comp, I hope not but i fear it's true. Afl have planned this very well to stamp it's authority over all leagues in the country.

Would expect the Pre-Season Draft and Rookie Draft in a few weeks will have more impact than on Thursday. Interesting to see how the new teams will effect our competitions over the next few years. I don't think it will have too much of a negative impact overall. Nowhere near as much as the talked about AFL Reserves would have if that came in.

Believe it when it happens.
The majority of sides will go with kids this year with concerns over the talent available in upcoming drafts with Gold Coast and West Sydney exceeding bag limits before the season starts.
The future seasons are when the mature age recruits will become attractive due to the pool being as shallow as the Goolwa Lakes.

After reading the messenger today sounds like there is a big chance the Kangaroos will rookie draft Brayden O'Hara.

I know the crows were very interested in one Eagle youngster .I watched 2 unnamed crows officials almost wetting their pants and then found out the lad was only 16 .Bit like watching kids getting told no ice cream if u dont eat your brussel sprouts
Interesting times ahead for the sanfl .

It's on Foxsports 2 6pm. Guess they've changed it to an evening as it is the first time it's being broadcast. You can live stream it on afl.com. Beware if you're not a bigpond customer as it will chew up lots of your usage. 5aa are also broadcasting it form 6pm
