Player Signing - James Boyd
The Central District Football Club is pleased to announce that James Boyd has signed for season 2010.

The 20 year old former Panther, will join the training squad from tonight and is looking forward to being a part of the 2010 campaign.

Boyd, who was runner-up in the Magarey Medal and winner of the SANFL Rising Star Award in 2008, will form an important part of the midfield next season, along with Chris & James Gowans, Ian Callinan and Paul Thomas.

The Club welcomes James and wishes him all the best for his career at the Bulldogs.

At absolute worst case scenario he adds depth in the midfield which is something every premeirship sides needs, there is no down side to this signing by the Dogs, his young, south australian, proven at SANFL level. Realisitcally he could be a 200 game SANFL player, can't say that about every signing teams will make this off season.

You weren't happy if he went to the Eagles(no chance of a flag or words to that affect) but your really happy he's helping your midfield

i wasn't happy if he went to the Eagles because i wanted him at Central and your right i don't think the Eagles have a shot at the flag next season with or without him. So your point is?

NEW HOME: James Boyd has signed with the reigning premier

CENTRAL District has moved to help cover the retirement of rover Matthew Slade by signing South Adelaide midfielder James Boyd.

Boyd, 20, has signed a one-year deal and will begin training tonight.

``I’m absolutely stoked mate, I can’t wait,’’ Boyd said.

``They were looking for someone, not to replace Sladey because you could never replace a player like him, but someone to come in and play that roving role.

``I just want to play my part in the team.’’

Boyd said he couldn’t wait to team up with experienced Bulldogs midfielders James and Chris Gowans, Ian Callinan and Paul Thomas.

``The two Gowans boys, you couldn’t have anyone better to learn from.

Central coach Roy Laird said the club had been monitoring Boyd’s form for the past two seasons.

``He’s played some good footy against us,’’ Laird said.
