I still remember that ad - and Glenn Ridge standing behind his Sale of the Century podium saying 'Go Sturt' in a similar manner.
They don't keep me here because I'm gorgeous and 5'10

The big unanswered question of the day for mine was why was he down there?

Was it a last minute decision to be at Noarlunga, a location far enough away from the city so only the really keen news people would make the trip
OR
One of those co-incidences where he was already down there for a business lunch or some launch with the Panthers?

South's biggest crowd at Noarlaunga!!!!

Perhaps it has been their brand of footy that keeps people away rather than the location after all.

back to football.....

one thing is certain.....

South have got first pick in the local draft.....

most likely who ever the Power draft......

could be this Vic kid John Butcher who is rated highly?

key forward, 18, Gippsland Power, 197cm, 84kg.....

would be a handy accusition for any SANFL Club.......

Then presenting stuff at the Civic Centre at Noarlunga. He was then free of engagements to do the press conference .Rather than have the circus following and spoiling the event at Collonades and risk the public in the madness it was held across the road where the pack were asked to wait safely at the oval........... Lets keep the Roswell like theories to a mininum hey!!!

Roswell stuff? The paper said clearly the cabinet meeting was at Woodcroft.
Quoting the paper as to where a cabinet meeting is is hardly starting a new theory about UFOs, have you recently been to the mal and bayman school of melodrama or something? :?

Wedgie, The Roswell line was aimed at those suggesting earlier that he was down there to hide and only the keenest of journos would travel all the way there.I was trying to detail his day which was pre arranged well defore the drama hit and why and when the press conference was held at the oval .
I should have broken my response into 2 seperate posts and not included the Roswell line in a post which contained your quote.....
